The Solstice won the SSB and T2 classes of SCCA Club Racing division at the 2007 Runoffs at Heartland Park Raceway in Topeka, KS. Because of this, Pontiac offered 2 limited production models. The SCCA SSB Champion Edition was available on base Solstice models, and the SCCA T2 Champion Edition was available on Solstice GXP models. Each carried unique graphics, stripes and embroidered Light Titanium leather seats along with higher levels of standard content. They only produced 250 of each special edition for a total of 500. Sexy and fun, the Solstice can make you bust out in a foolish grin while on the road. Even after several years, the roadster with the curvaceous body still turns heads like it did while spinning on a turntable as a concept car. Pontiac's first attempt at a two-seat roadster was a success, as all the necessary ingredients are here: a powerful front-mounted engine, rear-wheel drive, a fully independent suspension, big wheels and tires and a close-to-perfect weight balance. The turbocharged, 260-hp GXP variant took care of any gripes, as it satisfied those who required eyeball-flattening acceleration along with eye-catching good looks.
