1983 280 ZX Turbo White with red interior, the last year of the 280 design VIN NO.: JN1CZ04SXDX758720 MILEAGE IN 6/47/2004 – 121,406 MILEAGE IN 1/10/2012 – 131,623 Car’s history: I bought the car in 1989 (third owner) and drove it as my summer work car until 1997 at which time we moved and at our new home I didn’t have time for it. So it was stored under cover until 2004 when my son graduated college and got a job – taking the car with him. Two years later it was returned to me with fouled fuel injectors. I have replaced all injectors and the car runs fine. Last winter I pulled the car in to do some touchup to dings on the body, when I was done it looked like a teenager with acne, I painted it. The car: The engine is sound, the turbo kicks in with plenty of power, the transmission is a 5 speed manual in good working order; bushings and rubber components are old being original, tires have lots of rubber – but they were purchased in the early 90’s so they are old with age cracks. AC is the old Freon 12 system and does not have a charge; therefore the automatic temperature control does not work. The radio & power antenna work, it is weak and it only pulls in strong stations, the cassette player eats tapes (I stopped feeding it). The car has a digital dash with all readouts functioning; the dashboard is sound without cracks. The tee tops are installed and the carrying sleeves are included with the sunshades for the tops, (top keep the hot sun off your head when the glass Tee tops are installed). The weakest part of the car is the interior: it has a 1983 interior and that interior has not been restored in anyway, there are age cracks in the plastic of the seat, stitching is failing; sun has discolored some of the plastic and fabric; the gas lift struts do not hold up the rear hatch. The Datsun shop manual comes with the car for your enjoyment. The reason for selling: I’ve lost interest in the car. While working on it last year I didn’t have the enthusiasm that I use to have when working on my cars (It is fun to work on a car when you don’t have a dead line). So the car would just set around without being driven and that isn’t what a car is meant to do. I buy and sell on Ebay but not a lot, and I expect this car will sell for several thousand dollars, as a buyer I would have reservations about what I am getting for my money based on a picture and someone else’s opinion, so when you pay me in full, you get the car: drive it around the block, down the road, if you do not want I will return all your money except for the Ebay fees and I will relist it. In Ohio any car that has a license must have insurance even if you do not drive on the road. This car is not licensed and not insured so when you are test driving you are driving your car and any damage or liability is yours.
