Vehicle Detail
Nice, running 1972 Bay window walk-thru bus for sale with camper components . . . . You are getting a lot with this auction, besides a running and driving vintage Volkswagen Bus. The extra components included enable you to have a passenger bus or camper van. I have a rock-n-roll style bed for it - you get both the folding bed/seat and the stock rear bench seat. Front seat area has child cot brackets installed - you will also get the child cot. I have a camper fold up/down table with cool yellow formica finish and the faucet water cabinet (same formica finish) with water storage bottle. You will have to reassemble the cabinet as it is currently disassembled and secure/bolt in the passenger or camper seat and table. The roof mounted luggage carrier pictured installed on the rear is also included. We could work out something separately on the wood slat roof rack seen in one photo if you are interested - it is currently just convenient for me to store it on top - not included. Original paint buffed out on passenger side and rear only. Driver's side remains unbuffed and will be left for you to finish. It is nice to see the original condition of the VW. Engine was rebuilt (allegedly by a respected VW specialty shop in Southern Utah) with single dual-throat carburetor. Drives fine in all gears. Solid frame and body - NOT rusty. Oh - did I say basically zip on rust - even the battery tray is solid - how rare is that? Repair work begun on nose, but not completed and still in primer. Tires have near new tread, but are older with cracking. Unfortunately the guy restoring it (engine rebuild, new tires, new shocks) passed in mid progress. Needs a few things here and there, like reupholstering the front seats and the turn signal switch is sloppy, but the majority of the hard stuff like engine, tranny, solid body, mechanical, etc is well on its way. Just replaced the battery, sorted out a sloppy shifter, replaced a brake hose, swapped out the faulty headlight switch and couple other minor things. No middle seat. Front seats definitely need recovering. Decent bumpers. Have installed the front rubber floor mat for it. Just in time for Spring. You are welcome to come drive it in person. Will help with transport if needed. Was quoted $500 to the SF Bay Area. Low reserve! Good luck bidding.
