Vehicle Detail

INTRODUCTION AND DESCRIPTIONYou are viewing my 1975 Dodge Royal Monaco Brougham Coupe, equipped with the 400-4V big block engine, mated to a 727 “Torque Flite” three-speed automatic transmission. It has its original, numbers-matching engine, transmission, and body parts. This Royal Monaco has had two owners, including me for the past eight years, and has just under 83,000 original miles (to the best of my knowledge). There is quite of bit of information available online to help you research this vehicle. The 1975 model year launched the return of the hidden headlight design for the Monacos (last used in 1973) in response to complaints that the 1974 Plymouth and Dodge C-bodies looked too much alike. In addition, the Royal Monaco models were introduced in 1975, and during the model year run a limited number of Brougham Coupes were introduced. I cannot find production numbers for the Royal Monaco Brougham Coupes, but my guess is "not many". The Royal Monaco C-body went out of production after 1977 model year, though the Monaco name survived as a B-body through 1978 model year. And then and as you may know in 1978 the last C-body (Chrysler New Yorker) and the B-bodies ended production forever. The partially decoded VIN follows: D=Dodge Monaco, P=Premium Price Class, 29=Two Door Special Coupe, N=400-4V engine, 5=1975, and D=Belvidere Illinois assembly plant. The relevant data on the fender tag are: E64=400-4V,D34=Torque Flite transmission, LA2=Silver Cloud Metallic Exterior, P31=Power Windows, P41=Power Door Locks, 121=Build Scheduled for January 21, 1975, S61=Tilt and Telescoping Steering Column, and H51=Single AC with Heater. Among its other options, this Royal Monaco also has dual chrome mirrors, cruise control, AM/FM stereo radio with four speakers, trunk carpeting, premium wide body side moldings, cornering lamps, and fender-mounted turn signal indicators. This Royal Monaco Brougham Coupe runs very well. There's nothing like "big blocks" in these C-bodies as that was what was needed to get these brutes down the road. All routine maintenance .. fluids, belts, hoses, etc. .. has been recently done. The AC system is operating (e.g., compressor cycles, blower works) but is not blowing cold air. All gauges and electrical systems are operating, including the power windows (driver window is sluggish moving up however) and door locks, with the exception of the rear defogger. The deluxe velour and vinyl Brougham interior is original, was only offered on Brougham models, and is in exceptional overall condition. The dash panel is straight, colorfast, and has no cracking whatsover. There are no unusual smells of any kind. The package tray is also intact, though slightly faded. The carpet and seats (the seats are manual) have no rips, tears, or stains but do show minor wear consistent with the vehicle's age. The headliner, door panels, and remaining interior trim is in great condition with a few minor imperfections as shown. The vehicle has its original owner's manual in the glovebox. As a southern US car, the finish had dulled due to outdoor exposure and it could not be restored to luster through any amount of detailing. The the only body work I did to this vehicle was to refinish it in its original Silver Cloud Metallic just after I purchased it. There was absolutely no rust through, and no evidence of any previous body work of any kind was noted during that process. The plastic fender and quarter panel extensions are completely intact which, if you know these cars, is a rarity. All the glass is in great condition. The headlight doors operate fine. The entire vinyl roof was replaced this year with original NOS materials. Of course, the vehicle continues to be rust-free, with the exception of surface discoloring and tiny fatigue blisters under hood and under the deck, and on the rear bumper. It has been in indoor storage under my entire ownership. The chrome trim is driver quality and in a condition consistent with the age of the vehicle (e.g., minor dings, and other age-related imperfections). The tires are 235/70-15 Michelin X-One radials with nearly all their tread remaining, and the wheels are the 15x6 Chrysler Road Wheels. Notice the exceptional condition and completeness of the center cap. There is some silver paint missing in spots on the wheel faces. I do not know what wheels came on it originally as they were not there when I bought it, but as the Brougham model it was likely this car had these Road Wheels or maybe the deluxe wheel covers. The spare tire is an old Goodyear Polysteel Radial that dates back to when this car was new. This Royal Monaco is a complete, very good remaining example of the "good old days" of the big block, C-body Chrysler interstate cruisers, and it does not need very much at all to be really outstanding. Be assured there there are not that many around anymore, and in the case of the 1975 Brougham Coupes like this one, there were not that many to start with given its limited production option designation by Chrysler. You probably will not see one pull up next to you at your local cruise night. I hope it finds a good home with someone ready to preserve and improve on it for a few more years. AUCTION SUCCESS CONSIDERATIONS I have established a reasonable reserve for this 1975 Dodge Royal Monaco Brougham Coupe. Please consider bidding during the auction to the extent and level you deem appropriate and based on whatever factors are important to you. Please note that I reserve the right to end this auction early at my sole discretion. If reserve is not met, I may provide Second Chance Offers through the Ebay system, but note that this is only possible with people who actually bid during the auction. If you get such an Offer, it will be for a 24-hour duration and of course please feel free to write me for confirmation and I will provide a phone number at which I can be reached. This also means that if you were not a bidder, contact with me through the Ebay system after the auction ends is not likely to result in a successful transaction. I am sorry in advance for the following auction process requirements, realizing they do not apply to the vast majority of responsible Ebay members. Encountering non-paying or unresponsive bidders is about the worst thing that can happen in a vehicle auction, given the significant preparation time and cost to market a vehicle this way. So, please BE SURE BEFORE YOU BID that you have any required financing, insurance, storage, transportation costs covered, customs and duties information, spouse's permission, etc,. Simply put, do whatever you need to do to STAND BEHIND the actual bid(s) YOU MADE and were recorded during the auction. Bidders with less than 5 (five) feedbacks may at my discretion have their bids canceled and then blocked from further bidding for the duration of the auction unless they contact me in advance of bidding. Bidders who are "fishing for the reserve" by making and then canceling bids they NEVER intended to honor WILL BE reported to the Ebay Trust and Compliance Department. Bidders outside North America (anywhere other than the US, Canada, or Mexico “mainland”) are welcome to bid, but also must email me before bidding to discuss payment and shipping procedures. INSPECTION AND WARRANTY INFORMATION Any and all relevant and appropriate questions you submit while the auction is running will be answered promptly and as thoroughly as possible by email only. Again, given that this is a used vehicle please do not have unreasonable expectations as to its current condition or future condition under your ownership. Your bid forms the basis for a binding, legally enforceable contract. As such, if you require it, please make all pre-purchase inspections (at the sole expense of the bidder) before committing to purchase the vehicle. Inspections can be done by appointment only by you or your designated inspection service. Although I believe I have described and depicted (with numerous high-resolution photographs and video) this vehicle accurately, please note that this vehicle is sold "as-is, where-is” with no express or implied warranties or guarantees of any kind. With the required legal statements provided, I am a reasonable person and I know potential buyers may not be able to see this vehicle before bidding. If the winning bidder was unable do a pre-bid inspection and then determines that, after submitting a timely deposit but before taking delivery, I did not accurately represent the vehicle in some significant and obvious way, I will try to work it out with you. As reasonable people, if we cannot figure something out, I will immediately refund your entire deposit and we can both move on without any further obligation to each other. Please recognize that this is not an invitation for potential bidders to skip your own pre-purchase due diligence and is not an opportunity for me and the winning bidder to try later to negotiate away our respective contractual responsibilities. PAYMENT AND STORAGE A $500 deposit is required from the winning bidder, due electronically via PayPal within 24 hours after the auction ends, to hold the vehicle. I will not be accepting trades. Full payment is due within 7 days of auction end via cash, wire transfer, or certified bank check (drawn on a major US bank). Clear title in my name is in hand and vehicle can be scheduled for buyer pickup by appointment at anytime after full payment is received and cleared. I can hold the vehicle in indoor storage for 15 days (or longer, if weather or other uncontrollable factors emerge) at no charge to the winning bidder after the auction (the charge is $15.00 per day after 15 days). Thank you for viewing my auction.
