Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1968 Ford Ranger F100. I am the second owner of this truck. It had a frame off restoration in 2005-06. I am 99% sure this is a matching numbers truck. The truck was bought new by my Great Uncle in 1968 and has been in the family since. My Uncle told me the engine and tranny are original and have never been replaced. The truck runs great and only has about 1000 miles on the engine since it was rebuilt as part of the restoration. It is restored as new......black on black, 390 engine with 3 speed on the column, overdrive transmission. It has the styleside 8 foot bed. I'm told this is a very rare truck to have that combination. It was a special order truck when new. I have copies of the original purchase paper work. I have the original owners manual, Warranty book, metal VIN number tag, and plastic card made for my uncle when the truck was put into service on 08-03-68. The truck is garaged kept and runs like new. This is a beautiful truck but it has a few flaws. The grill of the truck is the original grill. It has been worked on and repainted but it is original and shows some wear. I could not find a new grill when I restored the truck. The paint job is now 5 years old and is beginning to show a few light scratches/cracks here and there. Also, one of the wheels is showing some wear for some reason. You can't see it in the picture but there is some discoloration. The inside mirror is original as are the pads on the brake and clutch levers. I did not replace them on purpose. I wanted this truck to remind me of my uncle when I drove it. This is a 43 year old truck. It looks and runs almost like new...but it isn't new. You can find few flaws in this truck if you look. But overall, it looks and runs like a truck that had almost $20,000 invested during its restoration. All work was professionally done by Carolina Street Rods, West Jefferson, NC.
