Vehicle Detail
Hi, I bought this Delorean at an estate sale. I went there to buy die cast car models but came home with with a real car.I thought I could make a little money on it and how cool would it be to own a De Lorean. HISTORY: I'll tell you what I know about the car. First of all I know absoulte nothing about Deloreans. The car had been sitting in the same spot for 3 - 4 years according to some family members who were at the auction. According to them, it was running then and parked there. The car was sitting outside when I bought it. The car doesn't have a battery in it and I never tried to start it or put in a battery. The title is clear and is in my name. In the glove box I found the 1999 registration, which may be the last time it was registered. A smog certificate noted it had 119k miles on it. The odometer shows 26,000 miles. The stainless steel body is in excellent shape with only one very small ding on the hood. The dash is badly cracked, apparantly due to sun damage (see photo). Trunk area is clean and has a spare. (See photo.) Both doors did open when I got it, but when I removed the seats to clean the carpet, I couldn't get the passenger door open so I just left both seats out. They had seat covers on but I removed them so you can see the actual condition of seats. (See photo.) Seat rails on passenger side are rusty and don't work. Carpet was dirty but dry. Lift supports on doors and engine cover don't keep them open. Latch cable on trunk and engine department are broken. Part of headliner is coming down. The worst part of headliner is between the doors (see photo). Glove box is signed by John DeLorean (see photo). Includes car cover, luggage rack, original owner's manual, parts book, service repair manual, memorabilia including 4 books about John DeLorean with one signed by him. DeLorean magazines, frame specs on the car, magazine covers of the car, miscellaneous photos and postcards. There is a stock certificate but I don't know if it's real. Car is sold as-is as it is not running. I recommend serious buyers to come look at the car. I live in Nashville and the car can be seen at any time with an appointment. Within 24 hours after auction closes $1,000. down payement is expected through PayPal. Balance due within 7 days by PayPal or in person, Cash only. Buyer arranges for shipping or pickup of car.
