Vehicle Detail

This is an extremely rare version of the Classic MGB. It has had one owner since 1967 when it was bought as a low mileage car. It has 56,000 original miles and is nearly completely original. It is an extremely rare early car. The very earliest cars had not only the more classic metal dash, but also exterior pull handles. They were usually made in more classic color combos similar to the MGA. Very few of these early cars survive, and even fewer in their original configuration with no modifications. This car was restored sympathetically to keep as much originality as possible with the intent to compete in the MG show circut. It has won several awards for originality, and is a beautiful example. The outside is finished in its original shade of Iris blue, which not only is a rare period MG color, but also the color of the US show car that was featured in all the major car magazines of its time (see cover of Road & Track included). The interior and top are also finished in the original navy blue. The engine bay has been restored with an eye for originality also down to the correct reproduction decals. Wheels have been refinished and shod with a set of correct wide whitewall tires. Mechanincally it is in great condition. Just recently the entire brake hydraulic system was replaced and rebuilt as well. Cosmetically, its in great shape as well. The paint is excellent having been repainted to a good standard in the original color. The interior is mostly original except for the carpet which is new. This includes the original radio & MG crested Seat belts which clip into eyelets in the floor. Conv. top is also new and made in England by the same company who produced the tops for the MG factory when new. It also comes with it's original jack (pictured) still with the label! and the jack bag (not pictured) It has its tonneau bars (pictured) with storage bag (not pictured) and the original navy blue tonneau cover. While not perfect, this is a very nice sympathetically restored car that has seen limited use outside of shows. Cars of this caliber rarely come up for sale. I am reluctantly parting with this car, so Please be a serious bidder. Terms: This car must be paid for within 5 days of auction end. A $1000 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end. Buyer is responsible for shipping, however, I can help arrange with a shipper I know at a substantial discount. As an example $450 to Los Angeles CA Of couse, sold as is where is with no guarantees or warranty. To contact me directly, call 405-420-6996 or email
