Here's an honest survivor 1957 Chevy Sport Sedan Belair model for sale. If you are looking for a great running and sharp eye-catcher and don't want to break the bank- here it is! This Chevy has been well-maintained and updated to keep it a reliable road-running automobile. The interior & exterior are both original and although a bit worn in spots, it is very respectable. The car starts, runs and brakes without issue. Has a three-speed manual transmission on the column and manual brakes as well. The forward gears and trans are good- the reverse is a tad hard to find but is solid when in reverse. (may just need adjustment) All gauges work except for the original radio- can't turn it on. Heater, outside vent, gas tank, temperature, and speedometer all work. Wipers even work but I don't know how to shut them off- so I pulled the contact off. Maintenance has been: *new tires *new brakes & lines where needed *turned drums *new spark coil *new plugs & wires *rebuilt carburetor *rebuilt oil filter canister * all fluids drained and refilled *chassis has had a lube job *springs and shocks are good *original gas tank was drained and is clean *radiator & all hoses are clean or replaced *heater hoses replaced *engine was degreased and repained & new gaskets where needed *new fuel pump & filter *horns work well *new bullets in front *all new wheel cylinders *new master cylinder The 6 cylinder engine starts and runs well and has good power. The engine was rebuilt about 10 years ago. Floor & trunk pans are solid and although it does have rust underneath the car- nothing seems to be very aggressive. The sheet metal is solid, strong and almost rust free- it does have some small spots along the very bottom of doors (little pocks) and some along the hidden edges of the stainless trim. But no bondo or filler anywhere on this car! Has two paint damage spots behind the back window from water but the paint is only crackling. One repaired spot behind the left headlight- now in prime and blends in. Please look at the pics and see for yourself- she is a sporty sedan. All doors and windows work well- smooth & clean latching & locking; all chrome is nice and all original, one glass is cracked in the back driver's side but it is in a tight frame. The e-brake pulls and releases but since brakes were all redone- it needs adjustment, probably tightening.
