Thank you for interest and looking at our 1984 SL. This is one of the remaining vehicles of several classic cars, that we purchased from a classic car collector a number of years ago. The owner claimed that he was the second owner and that he had bought it for a second car to drive during nice weather. As an engineer, he diligently maintained the car all the years he owned it, and put most of the miles on the car from driving over the highway. Since we purchased the car, it has been kept among our indoor storage facility; and has been driven from time to time; but over the past decade it has been driven less than 20,000 miles; and has always been well maintained. Both the hard top and soft top fit perfectly on the car, and it runs and drives well. The interior has very minor wear and cleans up well. This SL is a safe purchase at any price. It's only going to increase in value if kept in it's current condition. The Mercedes-Benz SL is a grand tourer manufactured by Mercedes since 1954. The designation SL derives from the German Sport Leicht, or Sport Lightweight — and was first applied to the 300SL 'Gullwing' named also after its gullwing or upward-opening doors. The Mercedes-Benz 380 SL R107 was produced from 1980 through 1986. Under the bonnet lurked an all-aluminum 3.8-liter V8 engine that produced over 150 horsepower. The engine was mated to a four-speed automatic gearbox and power was sent to the rear wheels. The 380SL was a two-seater coupe that cost nearly $44,000 in 1984 The miles you see are the actual miles for this vehicle. There is no apparent damage on this vehicle.
