It was represented as a RARE 4 Door Hardtop (which is a 4 door sedan from the 1950's referred to as the Hardtop Convertible when the windows were rolled down) with no bar between the front and back door. The paint was described as in Good Condition; but the car would need some TLC. When the car arrived, it ran well and drove fine; and still does. The car also came complete with everything mentioned; and a few cardboard pieces painted black like the car, covering holes in areas of the body. We reported the sale to the authorities and completed the necessary documents to dispute the sale in timely manner; however, we never were able to return the car; and received no credit for the purchase. Ultimately, we paid for what turned out to be not so great of a purchase for the price. Because we have a number of projects going we have decided to let this one go. However, this 57 Hardtop can definately be restored, and we have had it inspected by several classic car experts who agree that the vehicle is all original, which is a great way to start. We are dealers with a good reputation to maintain; and so we are describing the car as best we can, so as not to pass our loss onto another eBayer. Our 57 Chevrolet definitely is the Hardtop Convertible; and looks the part when the windows are rolled down. Widows all work, front and rear winshields are in tact, and the engine is running properly. All power equipment is functioning properly. This vehicle has a smooth shifting transmission. There is an average amount of wear on the interior. But the rest of the car requires overhaul; but the good news is that the chasis is solid enough to get there; and will truly be a very rare car when complete. Some of these cars sell for over $50,000 dollars; and this car does have the potential to be one of them. It has the right original color options to do it. Black, White, and Red; and will be an extraordinarily gorgeous car when it's all done. The vehicle is technically not a converible. What we intended to describe in the subtitle by calling this BelAire a Hardtop Convertible, was the Hardtop Sport Sedan. We were trying to demonstrate the significant difference between the regular 4 door sedan; and the Sport Sedan with the open air space from the front to rear when the windows were down. One of our older managers said that when they were kids, they called it a Hardtop Convertible.
