Vehicle Detail
Beautiful, well-maintained 2006 Sprinter 2500 Wagon. Selling to make room for two 2012 Sprinters which recently arrived. This Sprinter was purchased new in 2007 from Sherman Dodge in Skokie, IL. We are the first owner. It has spent its life on I-57 going back and forth between Champaign, IL and O'Hare Airport. Therefore, most miles are highway miles, and it shows. Vehicle has received preventive maintenance every 5,000ish miles, including oil changes with Mobil 1 synthetic. Engine runs strong and has no known issues. We recently sold a nearly identical Sprinter with 375,000 miles on it, and that was still running strong, too. Fuel economy is typically around 19 mpg for trips which are mostly highway miles running at about 70 mph. Transmission and driveshaft were replaced about 1000 miles ago. Driveshaft is OEM new, transmission is a rebuild from Silver Star Transmission in Edmonds, OK. I can't think of anything that is not working properly. The sliding door opens and closes easily. Climate control works great, Seats are all in fantastic shape, and we've installed special reading lights over each row of seats. Body is in great shape. No accidents. There are a few minor body blemishes. FIrst, there are two spots where there was surface rust and we refinished. The rust was wirebrushed and ground out, then the spot was etched with phosphoric acid, then primed and painted - about a year ago. There has been no additional corrosion, so the repair seems to have been quite effective. There are also two little dents in the right door where the vehicle was struck by a thrown object. The dents have been touched up. There is also a small area of surface rust near the bottom of the windshield - visible in the picture with the hood open, if you can find it. There are a bunch of tiny nicks in the hood from pebbles or rock salt, and almost all have been touched up. Radio/CD works great. I'm including radio removal tools in case you want to pull it out and replace it with something else. Decals can be removed with fingernails and a heat gun. After removal, adhesive cleanup with paint thinner should leave it looking like new. A ton of spare parts are included. The value of the parts exceeds $1000: - two sets of front brake pads- two front brake rotors- two rear brake rotors- two additional sets of brake pads, one in a brake job kit. i believe these are for rear brakes- four brake pad wear sensors- two speed sensors- two tie rod ends- two shock absorbers- three mud flaps- side mirror glass- side mirror motor- new OEM starter (this cost about $450!)- two serpentine belts- four idler pulleys - an assortment of bushings and bolts for idler pulleys, i believe- glow plug control unit (this costs a couple hundred and likes to burn out every 150k miles or so)- heater blower resistor- assortment of sliding door roller assemblies - i believe one of each of the three kinds- assortment of door latch parts: strikers, misc parts, door check, etc.- several electrical equipment brackets (these go under driver or passenger seat and support whatever equipment you want to add)- an extra michelin tire with about 70% tread - four license plate light assemblies (socket, lens, mount) - four oil filters You'll also get the maintenance binder, which documents all work done on the vehicle.
