For your consideration is a 1985 dodge ramcharger that i am listing for a very close friend. My friend is a collector of classic cars and I couldnt think of anybody i would rather buy a car from because of his honesty and knowledge. He has owned the car since 2001 along with several others and used it as transportation to work for over 4 years and as a spare car since 2006. i actually still own a dodge truck i bought from him several years back. now for the car: 360 engine and auto trans that i drove and has plenty of power and smooth driveability and it stopped just fine. it went straight down the road and didnt pull left or right. it has power steering, brakes, and windows. the power windows operate a little choppy but they work every time. working air conditioning. (more on the a/c later). tires with 80% or better tread. all are goodyear with the exception of one which was damaged and replaced with a futura. 235/70/15. the carb was replaced with a rebuilt quadrajet from quality auto 100miles ago. the water pump, distributor, plugs and wires, ecu, battery, catalytic converter, K&N filter were all replaced within the last 500miles. the radiator was cleaned and flushed when the water pump was replaced. the windshield is new. the car passed the california smog check 3 months ago without any problem. this is a rigid smog check and the car wouldnt have passed if it had any problems. the body is straight with no dents or bondo. averages about 14-17mpg between fill ups. now for the bad: the paint is original and faded. the doors sag and you have to lift the drivers door a bit to open or close it. i think this can be adjusted. occasionaly the latch hangs up on the passenger side and has to be tripped with a screwdriver. the hood opens and shuts fine but it doesnt line up perfectly. it looks fine and i only noticed cause i've had plenty of old cars like this because of worn hinges. it's no big deal but we're being thourough. the upholstery is in good shape but it's pretty dirty and needs a cleaning. the carpets need a cleaning or relacement as well. the dash looks pretty good. the air conditioner works but it only blows through the lower vent. there is probably a duct or hose missing to the upper vents. the a/c switch on the dash is bad and is working from a toggle switch on a panel he added to avoid taking the dash apart to replace the factory switch. it blows cold. (r-134 conversion done.) the front passenger rotor looks scored and should probably be replaced. the alternator dash guage doesnt work. the transmision indicator needle doesnt work. the horn works but the button has been rewired to the dash. i've been as thourough as possible but keep in mind i might have missed something minor. it is a 26year old car and you should anticipate it wont be perfect. that being said you wont be able to buy a better truck at the starting bid! the car is in yucaipa, ca and you are invited to come and look and drive it. if you do i'm pretty sure you'll like it. feel free to call with any questions.
