Vehicle Detail

This beast has been in my family since it was bought new at Evergreen Ford in Issaquah, Washington. Any vehicle history should show three owners: my step-grandfather, my sister and me. Well cared for and with ridiculously low mileage, you will be hard-pressed to find a nicer F250 of this vintage. My step-grandfather was a Ford enthusiast and did all of his own maintenance. Unsatisfied with the idle on his new truck, he installed a couple of switches underneath the steering wheel to boost the truck's idle. With only 68,xxx miles on this 7.5L EFI V8 engine with the Banks PowerPack System, this truck has decades of towing and hauling left in it. Tow pretty much anything you want with the 2WD, electronic 4-speed automatic transmission, limited-slip differential, and Kelsey-Hayes electronic brake controller. Because the ABS warning light stays on, grandpa either disabled the ABS or the brake controller makes it stay on. It should be an easy fix. There is also a fiberglass patch on the exhaust just after the Banks muffler, and repair or replacement of this last stretch of the exhaust line shouldn't be more than a couple hundred bucks. The royal blue and white two-tone exterior is in nice condition and hosts roof lights, integrated cab steps, chrome rear bumper, aluminum wheels, bug guard, and a monster chrome GoRhino brush-guard. All chrome on the truck could use some polishing. Though it is not in the driver's line-of-sight, the windshield has a crack running along its bottom for much of its length. Replacement at Novus or Speedy is just about $200. The blue cloth interior, accessed with one of two keyless entry remotes, is in good shape (but could use a shampoo), with 40/20/40 front bench seats with console, power driver's seat, power locks and windows, A/C, cruise, tilt wheel, and sliding rear window. The factory AM/FM/cassette stereo works, but a true audiophile will probably want to replace it along with the speakers. Also at-hand is a Cobra CB/WB radio with exterior CB antenna. The carpeted bed, big enough to very comfortably sleep two or carry enough gear for an entire scout troop, is covered by a Pilgrim "Highrise" Canopy with vista window, front slider, privacy glass, and integrated 3rd brake light. The canopy, in otherwise good shape, does have some leakage, apparently from the seal on the vista window and possibly the gasket where it contacts the bed, both of which should be an easy and inexpensive fix. The bed and carpeting is a little damp with some mildew smell, but should be easy to dry and clean. To complete this classic ride's whole package, you'll also get the original 1996 Ford F-Series brochure, the 1996 Ford Recreation Vehicle and Trailer Towing Guide, the 1996 Ford Truck Exterior Colors swatch brochure, and Choose a Pilgrim Canopy brochure, along with the purchasing paperwork. Deposit of $500 is due by PayPal within 48 hours of auction close. Full payment required within 7 days of auction close. Come on up to Seattle to pick it up, or for $250 plus $.60/mile from Seattle, prepaid, I will personally deliver it anywhere in the continental United States that has at least a regional airport from which I can fly home (I would love a road trip in this beast at your expense!). A FEW POST-LISTING COMMENTS: I noticed that the AutoCheck report shows 4 owners. This might be because title was probably transferred to my grandmother in 2008 when my step-grandpa passed away. What I can tell you is this: The truck was bought new by step-grandpa, when he passed away, my sister bought it from my grandmother, and then transferred ownership to me for insurance purposes when I used the truck to move my grandmother from her home of 40 years (it hauls a LOT of stuff!). I also noticed that the AutoCheck report somehow shows that 89,000 miles were reported when it was emissions-checked in 1997, less than two years after it was purchased. Not possible. I'm gonna chalk it up to a emissions check tech that wasn't really paying attention. Other questions? Please let me know! On Jan-08-12 at 11:28:32 PST, seller added the following information: In looking over this nice rig today, I noticed that there is some etching/peeling on the rims. Not a huge deal, but in the interest of full disclosure, I wanted to post. I can send photos if you are curious. Also, reserve is well below Kelly Blue Book, so bid away. Goal is to get this rig sold. On Jan-12-12 at 12:51:46 PST, seller added the following information: To the many "watching" this listing, as the auction nears its end (Sunday morning), I invite you to contact me with any questions that you may have. I'm excited to pass this beautiful truck to its next lucky owner.
