Selling a 1998 Honda Civic LX 5 Speed Manual with the standard 1.6 engine, 4 Door Sedan with 182,000 miles. We are second owner of this car. So, here are the details: Power locks, power windows, power mirrors, AM/FM stereo, cruise control. Well maintained. Runs and drives very nicely. Everything works and there are no leaks. Great gas mileage (35 mpg +). Exterior clean with no rust and good paint. There are the normal wear and tear with a few scratches and very minor door dings. Tan cloth interior. Non-smoker. Upholstery in good condition without tears or rips. Drivers door panel has small tear in panel at arm rest area. Titled in Illinois currently, but the car has been in Central Indiana the majority of it's life thus avoiding much of the Chicago salt. Please note that the CD player visible in interior photos does not work, has been removed and replaced with the stock storage bin. The non-working CD player will be included in case you want to try and fix. Recent work includes: Front and rear struts, new front and rear brakes, front end alignment, two recent tires (at 168,000 miles) (other tires okay) and brand new Genuine Honda battery. New engine wiring harness and replaced cabin harness with a used item (this work eliminates possibility of a common Civic issue with a short to ground and blowing fuses). Long story - let me know if you want the details. Oil and filter just changed and valves adjusted. New fuel filter, new spark plugs. Timing belt, fan belts, and water pump changed in January of 2010 (water pump just because it is convenient when changing timing belt). New A/C compressor in 2010 and system serviced. Coolant system drained and replaced when water pump changed. Shop manual included. Needs nothing at this time and should be good to take anywhere. With that said, of course the car is 13 years old and is being sold as-is for pickup at my home just west of Elgin, Iillinois. I may entertain a delivery meet at a central location within a reasonable distance of Chicago, but please ask before bidding. If you are successful bidder, I will also be happy to meet you at O'Hare or Midway and deliver the car in person. On Jan-02-12 at 13:37:34 PST, seller added the following information:Here's a short addition to the listing: While working on the car this morning, I noticed a bit of ticking for just a minute right after startup that I hadn't heard before. After doing some research, I believe it may be piston clearance just showing itself due to the extremely cold temps just starting here in Chicago this week (in the 20's). It only does it upon cold startup and goes away quickly as engine warms. Apparently not unusual on a car with this mileage. There are no noises once warm. Please bid accordingly.
