His father purchased the car back in 1964 new. He owned the car until I purchased this automobile. I have had the opportunity to drive the car for a very short period of time. It is smooth, comfortable, and has a lot of power. It has only 79,200 original miles. It has been driven to church and the gas station rarely for the last 20 years. This is a dream car. This car is in very good condition and you will love it! This car could be a very, very nice daily driver or an ideal car to restore. You will be happy you purchased this vehicle either way. Timeless Collectable Automobile... 1964 Lincoln Continental History Lincoln-Mercury kept their word with the 1964-1965 Lincoln Continental after promising that the timeless 1961 styling wouldn't change for the sake of change. The foundation for this success was the 1961 Lincoln Continental. Easily one of the decade's styling landmarks, it was instantly acclaimed so by no less than the prestigious Industrial Design Institute. So good was its basic design that only careful annual refinements would be needed to carry it well past decade's end. With the 1964 Lincoln Continental, the thin-pillar four-door sedan and America's only convertible sedan returned, both with center-opening doors as before, plus a mildly revised grille with five vertical bars, a deeper and newly lipped trunk lid, slightly sharpened sedan rear side windows -- and flat instead of curved door glass. Less obvious, perhaps, was a wheelbase stretched three inches, to 126, and overall length that now measured 216 inches. Thankfully, these gains had little effect on weight, and even this longer Continental was still shorter than a 1964 Cadillac or Imperial. This car will only go up in value... NEW ON CAR: Battery, front bushings, all 4 tires, drums turned. DRIVETRAIN Engine: Original 1964 Ford 430 V-8. Transmission: Automatic POWER STEERING Yes. Works wonderful. BRAKES Brakes: Drum. The brakes passed inspection and have thick pads, just a little older. The drums were just turned. The brakes might need an overhaul however they stop the car great and work just fine. EXTERIOR Paint: The car was painted once. It was just a basic paint job. The trunk and door jams were not repainted. The car currently shines and with a little work it will be very presentable. The trunk shows a little rust. The trunk needs work maybe even a new trunk however the current trunk opens and closes Wheels and Tires: Original hubcaps. BRAND NEW white wall tires. P225 x 75 x R15 Exterior Lights: They all work; brake lights, backup lights, brights, blinkers, etc. Bumpers: All bumpers are in very good condition and I believe are all original. INTERIOR Interior: Very nice. The interior of the car is nice. It does need a very good detail. Headliner needs to be repaired or replaced. Dashboard should be replaced as well. Carpet and seats are nice however needs a good clean. The car presents nice. Radio: Includes the original Radio. AIR CONDITIONING Air Conditioning: Yes indeed, it has air conditioning. It has not been converted but the compressor turns on when you turn on the AC. TRUNK Trunk: It is in OK condition and has never been repainted. It is the original paint. GAS TANK Gas Tank: Gas tank was replaced. COMMENTS Comments: This 1964 Lincoln Continental is very nice. You can make this a daily driver with little to no money.
