Up for auction is a 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury with a 426 Street Wedge with a four speed manual transmission. There is so much to say about this car, I don’t know where to start. One thing I can say is this car while not absolutely perfect is about as close as they come. It has one a variety of awards and trophies including Detroit’s Woodward Cruise Judges Award in 2004. It was also featured in High Performance Mopar magazine in January 1991. The car was restored in 2001 and really been a bit of a trailer queen since then. The original 426 street wedge had a block issue 3 weeks after purchase. The dealer replaced with a service block (short block) and retained the original heads which are sequential with the VIN. Since then, the original heads (which come with the car) have been updated with Edelbrock aluminum performer heads and air intake (have original too). These have been epoxied to match Chrysler blue. Has ceramic coated headers and updated exhaust. Have the original cam but now sports one from a 440 6 pack. All this power is delivered to the pavement through 4 speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter, Centerforce clutch, an A8-33 transmission and a 355 Sure Grip rear end. Cragar SS are obviously not stock but look pretty good. Tires are in great shape. Has power steering and power brakes. The front brakes are disc and the rear brakes are drum. The undercarriage on this is in great shape as is the body. No bondo anywhere. The glass is perfect. The trim is probably 98% which means you have to look pretty hard to find anything wrong. Interior is fantastic other than driver’s seat which shows some wear. All electrical works fine. With the exception of the block and the wheels, if it is not original to the car, the original comes with it ......heads, intake, carburator, etc. .
