This auction is for a 2005 (2005.5) Jetta TDI that gets great mileage. This is the newer style that some call the 2005.5. The body has a few small dings and a few minor scratches but is a sharp looking car. The interior is very nice as well.The heat and ac work great as do the heated leather seats. It has the nicer factory stereo and really does look nice inside. The tires, brakes, and battery are almost new. I had the frontend checked and a couple of frontend parts were replaced. The car steers well. This car was starting to have some engine trouble when I bought it so I ordered a used engine from Low Mileage Engines that had aprox 54,000 miles and had it installed along with a new clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing. I have the documentation from the engine purchase. The engine starts and runs fine. I had planned to drive this car for several years which is why I invested so much money in the vehicle. There are two reasons I am selling this car. 1. Since the engine was installed I have had problems with the shifting. The shift cables need adjusted by someone more knowledgeable than I am. I currently have it adjusted to where all the gears shift fine except third. It does not grind in any gear and will occasionally shift into third as it should but that is the exception. I have had it adjusted so that it shifts into third but then it doesnt shift into first. 2. The second issue is that the car can seem like the gas pedal is disconnected from the engine and the car only idles. When this happens the pedal makes no change to the engine speed. Pushing in the clutch or turning the car off and restarting seems to resolve the issue short term. I have never been stranded by the car but this is an issue that I no longer want to deal with. I have been told that there is a sensor in the pedal that is likely the problem but I dont know and am ready to move on. The car is currently licensed and driven most days but these issues need to be fixed. I have the clear title and I am ready to sell. Fix those problems and you will have a inexpensive Jetta TDI fuel sipper that has a low mileage engine. The car is being sold as is where is. It is a not perfect and needs some tlc but is a decent car for the money especially if you can do a little troubleshooting.
