1976 Honda CB550 Four Super Sport Mechanics Special Divorce Sale Here is your chance to own one of these antique classic Honda Sport bikes from the CB series with the four cylinders. Overall this bike is in great shape. I have owned it since May of 2007, and I rode it to work to save gas. I had a blast riding it. Unfortunately, I have gone through a divorce and I need to unload it because I don't have a place to store it. It was garage kept until about a month ago, and now it is sitting outside where I now live. Rescue this classis antique and fix her up!! There is a list of minor issues with this bike that you can easily resolve and have a restored classic. When I parked the bike at the end of the riding season in 2010 she was running well, but there are a few things that need attention. None of them are serious and you could have a really nice bike with a little bit of effort. I am going to list everything that I know you will need to have this baby completely back to as close to original as possible. Mechanical Issues: Needs a battery. Tachometer quit working summer of 2010 Speedometer quit working summer 2010. I only rode it once after speedometer quit working. Ten miles at most, so odometer is accurate within ten miles. Ignition switch is bad and is bypassed. I purchased an assortment of used miscellaneous used wiring harness parts that match this bike. An ignition switch is not included, but there may be some useful parts in it. I never opened it and inspected the package. Will be included with purchase. Front Brakes need attention. Some pulsation during braking. I purchased a used rotor. Still in box. Haven't inspected it. Comes with the bike. I think it would be safe to say that the bike will need points, plugs, and carb adjustments but she was running good when I parked it last year. But you know they don't like to sit, so I would count on a tune-up. The bike does have two new sprockets and a new chain which only saw about two months of action before I parked it. Rear tire was new at beginning of riding season in 2010. Front tire seems ok. Cosmetic Issues: Bike looks good. Photos were taken 12/16/2011 Chrome fenders are nice, front and back. Exhaust has only surface rust. These bikes were kind of famous for quick rot exhaust but this one is in good shape still. Unfortunately both side covers are missing. The "Super Sport" decal is missing off of the left side of the tank. I have seen all decals for this bike on the net. Side covers are more rare but can still be found. The seat is in excellent condition and needs no attention. So... repair Tach, Speedo, Ignition Switch, and front brakes. Locate side covers and "550 Four" decals. Locate "Super Sport" decal for one side of tank. Tune her up, and you have a classic 76' Honda 550 Four Super Sport. I am not going to try to make money on this bike. I just want her to go to someone that will fix her up and enjoy her. So I am going to start by covering my auction expenses as a starting price. Winning bid gets it. I will not ship this bike. You either come and get it, or you arrange for pick-up at my house. I don't have time to mess with getting it to a local shipping company or whatever. Since this will probably sell at a very reasonable price, the shipping hassles are all yours. This is a great opportunity to own a great antique bike cheap. Just add the TLC and enjoy. I had a blast on this bike. Good luck. Happy Bidding. On Dec-26-11 at 17:55:15 PST, seller added the following information: I had a bid retraction and the bidder chose "#2 Seller revised item" as the reason for the retraction. There was no revision by me. The bidder stated he misunderstood what model of bike he was bidding on and that he had made a mistake. I didn't press the issue.
