This is a very clean 1955 Jeep CJ5. The vehicle was purchased and used as a plant maintenance and then in the early 70's it was promoted to an airport hangar that used it to pull the airplane in and out, The jeep was babied just like the plane and kept inside the heated hangar., I believe that they owned this until 2009. The vehicle has been kept inside. Here are some facts of things replaced since 1985. Springs and shackles rebuilt, L4 Go-Devil engine rebuilt, new clutch and pressure plate, lock out hubs. Stainless exhaust with Bora muffler. New front and rear brakes including shoes, cylinders, lines and hoses. Soft top with doors which are still in very good condition. The jeep has had the complete steering system has been rebuilt. It had 4 new shocks, 5 sandblasted wheels primed and repainted. It has 4 new mud and snow tires. The heater works. It drives and runs very well on the highway or off. Jeeps of this age were only made to go 45-50 miles per hour. The transmission shifts smoothly but it will slip out of second gear when decelerating, it only happens in 2nd. I put in a new 8 volt battery today. Items that need looked at. The w/s wiper needs a spring. The turn signals do not work. You can see the surface rust in the pictures. It just started showing an oil spot under the jeep. Any thing under 3,500 is a great buy on this 55 year old jeep. This jeep is being sold as is.
