NO RESERVE AFTER $4500!!! EBAY BIDDERS WILL DETERMINE SALES PRICE!!! HISTORY This Cherokee was owned since new by my circle of friends. Through the years the Cherokee simply was a daily driver, a sports tailgate vehicle, and in the past years towed behind a motorhome a few times to local campgrounds. The motorhome is sold, so the Cherokee is now for sale. To set your expectations, my vehicles are highly maintained. But this Cherokee is used, please do not expect new and flawless. This Cherokee drives *right-now-excellent*, all mechanicals and electrics are working, no service lights are on, and there are no leaks. The motor, transmission, transfer case, and differentials are unmodified and OE. The suspension is done right and tight. Drives straight with no vibrations, wandering, or wobble – both in town and highway. I have stacks of receipts and clear Ohio title. SPECIFICATIONS 1997 Jeep Cherokee SE (XJ). 4.0L motor w/108k. 5 speed AX-15 manual transmission. Command-Trac 4 WD drive. Dana 30 front axle, Chrysler 8.25” rear axle. Factory tow package w/rear limited slip differential and 3.55 gearing. OE emission controls are unmodified. Passes Ohio emission test. 2” receiver hitch w/4pin wiring. No trailer towing, just a bike rack. A/C is cold, heater is hot, and all controls work. All gauges work. Old Man Emu lift kit provides 3” lift. 1” transfer case lowering kit to maintain proper drivetrain angles. Interior is VERY CLEAN, no smoke, no pets. Only 1 vinyl split on drivers seat side. Power locks and mirrors. Windows are crank style. Sony CDX-C780 radio CD player. Exterior is VERY GOOD with glossy, non-faded original paint. Rockers and door undersides professionally sandblasted and gravel guarded for extreme corrosion protection. Tomken 2x4 rock sliders. Yakima roof bars, ski rack, fishing rod holders, cargo roof rack, and waterproof cargo bag. Alarm w/remote door locks. 2 keys and 2 alarm fobs. Rubber weather catcher floor mats for front and rear seats. RECENT MAINTENANCE @100k miles. Clutch replacement. Wires, plugs, cap, battery. K&N Filtercharger. Front brake rotors and pads. Cooling system hoses, fluid, and electric fan sensor. @107k miles. Rear brake cylinders, shoes, drums, grease seals. Front end inspected and replaced a tie rod end, u-joint, axle grease seals, and upgraded to urethane sway bar bushings. New Rough Country steering damper. New Serpentine belt. Replaced Oil pressure and O2 sensors. (4) New BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires 31” x 10.50” x 15”. ProComp 8179 Wheels w/spare wheel and wheel locks. Bushwacker Flat Fender Flares. Sylvania Silverstar headlights and clear turn & side markers w/stealth bulbs. @108k miles. Dynamax Exhaust cat-back exhaust. (4) new Mopar Wranger Rubicon high-pressure monotube shocks. Replaced driver door latch and lock. Front and rear differential, transfer case oil changed and re-filled with Lucas products. Transmission oil changed and re-filled with RedLine synthetic products. New rear hatch struts. WHATS WRONG ? JUST BEING HONEST --- MINOR ITEMS Window tint has bubbled on rear hatch and one rear door. Some scratches too. Still clear visibility. Driver seat floorboard has some rust stained carpet from seat frame bolts (common Cherokee area) – no holes or floorboard failure. The radio amp died a few years ago and has been removed. The amp controlled the rear speaker bar and 6" Mobile Authority M56FD flip down TV (still there). The Sony CDX-C780 radio/CD player and front door speakers work great. Dime sized dent on roof above driver door. Dime sized dent by passenger rear fender flare. 2” minor dent on passenger rear door. For sure, there will be a few ***minor*** scratches and chips being a 14 year old vehicle. The catalytic converter has a slight rattle when cold. After a 5 minute warm up, the rattle goes away. Its a Jeep thing. Front offroad lights are ready to be wired. MOTORHOME TOW BAR SETUP This Cherokee was briefly flat towed behind a motorhome. There is a Demco model 9518010 base plate sturdily attached to the front unibody of the Cherokee. It will stay installed on the Cherokee because it is Cherokee-specific and 5-6hrs to remove it. If you have no towing need, the base plate can be used as an off-road recovery point as-is or with D-rings attached. Or just leave it alone because the base plate is low-profile and doesn’t affect Cherokee drivability. There are two tow tabs under the front bumper (see pics). I will also remove the supplementary brake control cable that is on the front bumper. If you have a motorhome towing need, I have a complete Demco Excali-bar towbar, ReadyBrake TOAD braking, magnetic LED lights additionally for sale ($700), resulting in a turn-key motorhome 3500# TOAD setup. PAYMENT AND PICKUP DETAILS $250 PayPal Deposit. Cash or Certified Check for final payment. I have a clear, notarized Ohio title. I do not have any license plates. Pickup Cherokee within 7 days. Buyer arranges shipping. I’ll help with logistics where I can. I live 10 minutes from Cleveland Hopkins (CLE) airport if you plan to fly in and drive it home. If you buy the tow-bar setup for $700 additional, you can flat tow it home behind any vehicle w/2" receiver and 5000# towing capacity. ** I am taking offers locally and I will end the auction if the vehicle sells ** ** I check email 3x a day if you have questions ** On Dec-13-11 at 19:11:39 PST, seller added the following information: --------------- UPDATE DEC 13. --------------- WOW, thanks for the awesome response in page views, emails, and auction watchers !!! Here is a link to some photo requests: http://s1137.photobucket.com/albums/n502/97cherokee4sale/ Also had questions on rust. Where? The pictures show a nice clean body. The paint is all original. The rockers and under doors were gravel guarded to prevent rust. Remember, this a used vehicle and not a $200,000 show vehicle. It has been driven in snow and rain. (4x4 performs flawlessly BTW) There is surface rust on the undercarriage and suspension parts (see photos). NOT holes or rusted out frame structures or other nightmares. The rusty part is by the carpet/drivers seat frame. The floor gets wet from your shoes and the floor level seat bolts get wet and rust. This rust water stained the carpet. That's it. Also a question on the "Jeep" lettering. The color is orange. It simply is a vinyl decal. The Cherokee is the "SE" model and it did not come from the factory with "Jeep" and "4.0L" on the tailgate or "4x4" on the rear quarter panels. Again, the decals were put on top of factory paint, not repaint jobs.
