Vehicle Detail

1986 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC VIN: WDBCA45D6GA197708 73,xxx original miles!! The car is a Gen2 US spec vehicle, but has a full repro AMG widebody kit all around with fully custom European spec bumpers and headlights. The car is OEM factory "Signal Red" on "Cream Mushroom". The car has just received a full cosmetic restoration including a full paint job and newly refinished wheels. Mechanics:The car starts right up every time. Engine runs strong and idles perfectly. The transmission feels great, shifts perfect, and does not slip. The car car has never been molested or modified mechanically and has always been very well maintained. Clean and clear history and title, and all service records included. Exterior:The car has just received a full paint job in its original Mercedes Benz "Signal Red" color. The car was stripped down completely; all trim, emblems, glass, bumpers, lights, etc were removed. Inside of trunk, hood, and door jambs were repainted as well. The car is cosmetically immaculate. Wheels & Suspension:17" AMG wheels made by OZ. 12" wide rears with a 5" lip and 10" fronts with a 3.5" lip. The wheels have just been finished with the centers done in matching "Signal Red". Brand new tires 315/35 rears and 275/40 front. The car is also lowered on H&R sport springs with the original SLS suspension in perfect working order. The entire set up looks amazing! There is well over $6,000 in wheels&tires, and they do not even have 500 miles on them. Interior:The interior is "Cream Mushroom" and is clean but could use some TLC. The rear seats and rear deck panel need to be reupholstered. The front seats are a little sun faded and could use a dye job. The wood is cracked in certain areas but is presentable. Door panels, dash, carpeting, and headliner are all presentable as well. Personally I would have the entire interior redone down the road so it looks as good as the exterior. But I will leave it up to the future owner to do is to his or her preference. Electronics:The audio system needs to be redone as the rear speakers blew and have been removed, otherwise it works as it should. The headunit is also very outdated. All OEM electronics work perfectly however including all windows, sunroof, lights, horns, locks, mirrors. The car has custom taillights done to look like the taillights on the modern AMG cars such as the SL 55, etc. The headlights are OEM European spec BOSCH units with custom painted black housings and smoked corners to replace the original ambers. The lights really sets the car apart from other SEC's. The Bad:-The interior could use some TLC. -No rear speakers. -The passenger side fog light lens is cracked. -The driver side seat belt presenter is malfunctioning. -The power seats are not working. Small fix, they worked 100% before painting the car. The guys at the paint shop must have forget to plug them back in.-The hood is damaged and bent in the corners (see photos). It was a stupid accident on my part. I was cleaning the engine bay after washing the car and didn't fully close the hood. I forgot and took the car for a ride later that day. As i took off, the hood flew up and bent in the corners. The hood can be repaired, you don't need a new hood, but it definitely does need some body & paint work. I was quoted between $400-$500 to fix and repaint the hood.-The ride height in the rear needs to be raised via the SLS system as the rear tires scrape the inner wheel wells on big bumps in the road, other than that car rides 100% with no issues. Not a big deal at all, and it is a very simple fix, but it is something the future owner should know before buying. I pride myself on describing my cars to the best of my ability. I clearly explained what this car is, and what this car is not. I explained the good points of the car, as well as all of the bad points. I don't like surprises. The car needs some minor things to be 100%, but overall the car really is a gem. The important thing is how mint this car is mechanically, and how it really feels and looks like a low mileage example. It hurts to sell this car, but I am forced to due to a family emergency, I must free up some cash. I am willing to let this car go as-is for less than I spent on the wheels and paint alone. Any car this old is going to require some minor fixes, at least you know about them ahead of time with this car. Feel free to email me with any questions! Thank you and happy bidding. 516-554-2122Rocco On Nov-09-11 at 21:50:06 PST, seller added the following information:eBay will not allow me to remove my reserve. However, consider the reserve removed. I will sell the car to the highest bidder if he or she wishes to purchase. Good luck!
