My loss is your gain. Recently lost my garage and can't bear to keep her outside. This beautiful 1972 BMW tii was lovingly restored from the ground up. First, the entire car was stripped down to bare metal and painted in Polaris Silver using the best quality German glasurit paint. When putting it back together, parts were either restored or purchased directly from BMW OEM suppliers. Certain upgrades were also done to enhance the beauty of the car. Here's a partial listing of the restoration: Interior: Complete removal of old BMW carpet underlayment Sound dampening dynamat type barriers installed on interior metal surfaces Brand New navy carpet installed New Headliner New Front windshield Dash restored Glovebox restored both inside and out Instrument cluster restored with new turbo-red surround all gauges cleaned and restore to working order Clock restored and working All interior panels cleaned and repaired with new vapor barrier New AM-FM-CD radio with new speakers, amplifiers and woofers Seats re-dyed to match interior panels Replaced standard bus-type steering wheel with rare BMW Sport Wheel Re-chromed vent covers Rebuilt heater box Re-grounded wiring New Sheepskin seat covers New Cocoa mats Engine & Exterior: New front Turnsignal indicators new Hella Fog lights new headlights with conversion to high power New Curtis Ingraham High Performance Radiator New upgraded high power alternator Front spoiler Rear Fog Light Restored rear turn signal indicators, updated to LED bulbs All new OEM beltline trim New BMW gear shift knob New hood sound and heat protector New vinyl trunk covering New License Plate lights All new rubber gaskets in door jambs, under hood, trunk liner, windows, etc. In other words, I built this car to keep for myself with all the necessary trimmings. After my dad passed on, so did some of the thrill from owning it and working on it around him. The car is great and I wish I could keep it. Hopefully it will bring a lot of joy to someone else out there. I also have some additional parts that will be listed in later auctions. However a buy it now, offer will get to keep the rare Factory Blue Book Manuals that are a life saver when working on the car. This peppy little turbocharged four cylinder is a blast to drive and generates all kinds of looks and conversations. The car is also listed locally and I reserve the right to withdraw this listing if it sells prior to meeting the reserve price. I must have been brain-dead or sleep deprived when I added that phrase. The car does not have a turbocharger. It was something on the to do list and probably that was in the back of my mind when I mentioned it.
