Vehicle Detail

Up for bid - my 1959 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite. She's a 10 footer which would improve, I'm sure, with a good buffing of the paint. She lot runs and drives, but would benefit from some adjustments, brakes in particular, before being truly roadworthy. The body is rust-free. The front floor foot wells were patched well by the previous owner. She has a top, but it's old and probably useless. (A new one is $328 from Moss Motors). The top bow is excellent. The gauges work. The windshield wipers work. She comes withher original(!) side curtains in very good condition. She's sold with a bill of sale only. The lights and horn need to be hooked up. I'm sure you'll find other thingsto do as well. The engine (1100cc) has not been rebuilt and smokes a little, but it starts right up. The oil pressure is excellent. She does not overheat. The mileage reflectedby the odometer reflects 1218 miles but that, of course, is probably impossible. The clutch, master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, brake hoses, brake slave cylinders, fuel pump (electric), ignition coil, distributor cap & innards, plug wires, rack boots, spark plugs, oil filter, radiator & heater hoses, belt, ignition switch, thermostat, exhaust system, interior, seats, carpets, badges, tires, all 5 tires, and wiring harnesses (front, rear, and middle) are all brand new. I'm selling this car as is, where is. The reserve is low and far less than I've invested. I hope this delightful little Bugeye brings her new owner as much fun and joy as she's provided me. Thank you for looking and happy bidding. On Dec-01-11 at 08:28:41 PST, seller added the following information: An experienced car collector who came to see my car, and who knows a lot more about such things than I do, suggested that I might not have had to confess that "the engine smokes a little bit." He explained that engine tolerances were different in 1959 and that the small amount on start-up appeared normal to him. I also probably should not have said the engine has not been rebuilt. I more accurately should have said that I didn't have the engine rebuilt. It's history is, in fact, unknown to me, and it appears to run well. Thank you.
