1925 ROLLS ROYCE BREWSTER

This 1925 Rolls Royce Brewster Body 7 passenger limousine is a very striking Rolls Royce Brewster Body. The Rolls Royce chassis number is GSK-41 and Brewster number 9018.
This Rolls Brewster Body was owned by a prominent east coast philanthropist E.W. Masterbaum and other prominent owners of this car was Mrs. Violet Crane and Mrs A.F. Bemis
Rockefeller owned Brewster 9019 and Brewsters were owned by several prominent families, including Charles Draper, S.F. Houston, J.F. Abbott, etc.
The early history of Rolls-Royce in America is inextricably intertwined with that of the Brewster & Co. coach works, which contributed some of the most elegant, sporting and attractively proportioned bodies fitted to any Rolls-Royce chassis. At the turn of the 20th Century, Willie Brewster was the pre-eminent American coach builder, and by 1914, he became a Rolls-Royce agent, importing chassis from England and building bodies for his well-established and discerning clientele.
Then in 1925, Rolls-Royce bought Brewster, making Brewster its primary supplier of coachwork in America. Eventually, over 400 Springfield-built Rolls-Royces were Brewster-bodied.
Our stunning example is is in remarkeable and collectible condition and drives incredibly.
It may not win any races (only 20 hp) but will be the talk of the town wherever you take it.
I found 40 mph to be a comfortable "cruising" speed.
Every safety feature (lights, tailights, signals, horn, etc) are inm proper working order and this antique is ready to be driven or showed.

Rolls-Royce historians estimate that at least 425 Rolls-Royce chassis were fitted with Brewster bodies between 1914 and 1937, and a surprising number (close to 200) remain in the hands of museums and collectors. An equally astounding number (52) of Brewster-badged automobile exist as well, 13 of the first series (1915-1925) and 39 of the second (1934-1936).
After he resigned from the firm bearing his name in 1927, William Brewster spent most of his time at Manhattan's Union Club at Fifth Ave and 51st St and when it moved uptown in 1933 he retired to Bridgeport, Connecticut where he passed away in November, 1949 at the age of 83.
