I originally purchased this vehicle from Swedish Motors in Marietta PA. I was very interested as the car was rust free, the tranny was rebuilt and they had replaced the engine seals and mounts. I have been the owner of the car for two years and it was great, but I now drive my 9-5 wagon and the wife has a new mini-van as the family has grown. During my period of ownership I have replaced the tires, a/c compressor, fuel pump and alternator. I have had the car serviced at Carter's SAAB in Phoenixville, PA and his reputation and knowledge is excellent. This is a classic 1988 SAAB 900 SPG and for those buyers who are serious and take the time to research either Swedish Motors or Carter's SAAB will find the vehicle has been in good hands. Swedish Motors provided me copies of all of the service records since the day the car was purchased by the original owner. Until recently, I had been using the car as my daily commuter. The following are know issues: Driver side seat belt does not retract consistently, Dash clock does not work, Drivers side interior bottom of door is is starting to bubble which would indicate rust - no holes. Before I purchased the car I had it up on a lift and inspected. The only concern was the heat shield was rusty so I bought a new one but have not had it installed. There was no rust in or around the suspension or anywhere else I could see and the mechanic poked around known SAAB 900 trouble spots and we found the structure to be solid.
