I have for auction a 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 (Hardtop) that I purchased new. The car has been kept in storage for several years but I recently pulled it out of the barn and decided to sell it. The paint and interior are all original from the factory. All numbers match on this vehicle. The motor runs (no smoke) and I drove the car around my place without any problems after I started it. The transmission is a three on the tree manual and seems to be very strong as far as the clutch and pressure plate goes. I was surprised how easily this car started after sitting in my barn for so many years, put in a new battery, put some gas to it and it fired right up. All the glass is original with no cracks. Windows roll up and down without any problems. The paint is original and with a good buffer I believe could be saved which makes the car worth even more. The interior is all original and not in too bad of condition as you can tell by the photos. The motor is a 289. There is 156000 actual miles on this car. I drove it back and forth from Crane MO to my work in Springfield until my daughter turned 16 and decided she needed the car worse then I did. The dash board is in excellent condition (probably because it's the metal version) however it does need a new dash pad. The headliner is in good condition without any tears. There is minor rust on the real wheel panel above the wheels and a small amount inside the trunk next to the key lock that could easily be fixed. This would be a pretty easy car to restore because everything is in place, no missing parts to have to track down and buy. Believe it or not the car even has the factory AM radio still in it. Currently I'm using a jug as a fuel tank, the original fuel tanked leaked so my son-in-law found one for me and installed it but I was afraid the lines might be bad and I didn't want to risk running gas through them until they were checked out.
