Vehicle Detail

1977 Porshe 911S Targa This 911S Targa is in very good condition inside and out. I have owned the car since 1999, and have service and parts records dating back to 1988 when the motor was rebuilt. The car previously lived in California (non-catalytic) and Wyoming before living in Montana. There is no rust; the interior is clean and neat; the suspension is tight and responsive; the motor runs great; the transmission shifts smoothly. The car’s Siren Orange color is original and looks great from 20 feet. It was repainted by a previous owner, but the paint job was has a few runs that can be seen when viewed closely. The car is all original with 126,662 actual miles, except for the Kenwood stereo & speakers, and the Momo shift knob. Mechanical The 2.7l engine was rebuilt at 80288 miles in 1988 by NARW in Reseda, CA. Rebuild included valves, pistons, rings, mains, studs, tensioner…the list goes on. I have the receipt. Engine kept up to snuff since that time. Minor oil leak – appears to be leaking from the oil cooler hose. I change the oil at 5,000 mile or two-year intervals 9which ever occurs first, as I don't drive it much), and usually add ½-1 quart oil in-between changes. The engine starts and runs great. 915 5-speed transmission repaired in 2001 at 107,815 miles. Replaced the front pinion shaft bearing and shift sleeve for 1st & 2nd gears, 1st and 2nd gear synchro rings. I have the receipt. The transmission shifts flawlessly. Front shocks replaced with Bilsteins in 1998 at 93,019 miles. Exterior No dents or dings. No rust. All glass is clear with no cracks. The car was repainted by a previous owner, but it wasn’t a great paint job. There are a few runs (see photo) and there is a bubble that chipped on the rear deck (see photo). The car does not need to be repainted at the present time, but will at some point down the road. . Passenger door was dented and repaired by previous owner. I had the door re-painted and added a manual mirror to match the driver’s automatic mirror. There are some stone chips on the front (see photo). The targa top has a small cut on the exterior (see photo). The headliner is good. The top latches work fine, but the leather cover around driver’s side latch needs to be re-glued to the frame. It’s been that way since I bought the car. The seals above the front wing windows have shrunk, and leak a bit during a downpour. The front deck lid shocks are weak and should be replaced Interior All original except the stereo, speakers, and shift knob. See photos. All the instruments, clock, lights, heater controls, windshield wipers and washers, turn signals work. Dash has no cracks or imperfections. I installed a Kenwood stereo with a single CD player and matching speakers. Front seats show signs of wear, but no cracks, rips, or tears. I had the driver’s side seat seams re-sown a few years ago. Carpets are in great shape. No strange odors, including cigarettes. Door panels are in great shape. The lids on the door compartments function fine. Door locks and manual window openers work fine. I removed the non-working air conditioner assembly and replaced with stock lower dash panels. I added the gear shift center console. Tires & Wheels Original wheels; Uniroyal Rallye GTH tires. Original spare and compressor. Original tool kit. Terms of Sale I have described the car as best I can. I have confidence it will serve you well. The car has a clear Montana title.
