Vehicle Detail

This is an extremely rare version of the Classic MGB. The very earliest cars had not only the more classic metal dash, but also exterior pull handles. They were usually made in more classic color combos similar to the MGA. Very few of these early cars survive, and even fewer in their original configuration without modifications. This car was restored by the previous owner who intended to compete in his local British Car show circut. It has won several awards for originality, and is a beautiful example. The odometer was reset when it was restored, and now has less than 2200 miles since it was restored. This MGB is finished in the color combination of Black with Black & Red interior, which not only is a rare period MG color scheme, but also the ORIGINAL colors as shown on the British Heritage Trust Sheet. The Paint is beautiful and although restored several years ago, it appears nearly new. It has a deep shine, and looks great. The interior is also still in great shape as well. The seats are beautiful and have no perceivable wear. (as a clarification, some of the photos make the seat piping look orange, but rest assured it is the correct red) The panels and carpet are also in very nice condition. The Convertible top is very special. The last owner looked far and wide to find an original NOS period red top for an MGB. It is still in excellent condition despite being nearly 50 years old. It has only been on a car for the last few years. The engine bay has been restored with an eye for originality also, down to the correct reproduction decals. Wheels are chrome wire wheels in great shape and shod with a set of correct radial tires. Mecanincally it seems to still be in good condition having had the drivetrain rebuilt when the car was restored. Just recently the entire brake hydraulic system was replaced and rebuilt as well. While not perfect, this is a nice older restoration that has seen limited use. Cars of this caliber rarely come up for sale. I am reluctantly parting with this car, due to having to raise funds for a large scale home remodel that I am in the middle of. Please be a serious bidder. Terms: This car must be paid for within 5 days of auction end. Buyer is responsible for shipping, however, I can help arrange with a friend of mine at a substantial discount. Example $450 to Southern California. Sold as is where is with no guarantees or warranty. To contact me directly, call 405-420-6996
