I purchased this car in 2001 from the estate of the original owner. The car had been driven around 30,000 miles at the time. It currently has 76,550. The mileage is absolutely authentic. The vehicle has been carefully maintained and driven and has no known mechanical issues. Aside from replacing the timing belt and tensioner less than 3000 miles ago the car has seen only normal maintenance It is clean and straight and was never hit.. It should drive anywhere, but, with a 22 year old car, who knows? I should mention that the air conditioning is not working and the wipers don't usually park properly. A/C gradually gave -out 2 years ago presumably due to a leak in the system. No attempts were made to recharge or repair. In the ten or so years I've owned it, the car, which has no block heater, has never failed to start. The tires are just fair. The engine uses no oil between 3000 mile changes . The interior, right down to the carpeting, is remarkably nice with no damage or serious soiling. Now for the bad: the body has small areas of rust in one corner of each wheel opening. The included pictures show it clearly. Seems the rust occurred where debris kicked up by the tires abraded the surface of the metal. There are also a couple of surface scabs that should be easily fixed. The reason I'm selling is my recent purchase of a new Jettta Sportwagen TDI.
