Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my y 1986 Honda XR 600 'Project': I started with a clean, standard compression 86 Honda XR600 purchased locally, via eBay 3 years ago. I purchased the bike with a BILL of SALE. This (off-road) 1986 Honda XR600 will be sold with an INDIANA BILL of SALE. (no title) I replace the plastics, the fuel tank (w/ oversize 'desert tank), the front fork springs (progressive for 185lb rider) and seals, fork gaters, handlebars, risers and grips, cables replaced, new tires (Kenda Dual Sport), new sprockets (front and rear), chain, rear swing arm bushings, head tube bearings, rebuilt the carbs, replaced the ignition module and spark plug lead, added a 'Baja' light kit and turn signals, (making it safer, but not 'legal' to use on-road — the bikes serial number plate is marked FOR OFF-ROAD USE ONLY) had the wheels trued ...all in all; Just about everything I could. (without opening up the engine, which is tight and doesn't smoke) All of the upgrades and replacement parts have less than 50 miles on them. The value of the new parts alone well exceeds the starting price (if not the 'Buy It Now' price!) The problem is, I lost my right leg in a car accident and I can no longer kick start that big ol' 600 single 'jug'. Honestly...I've got a 250cc version of the same bike and I have no trouble kick starting it — but the 600's too much. The mechanic who did the tuning work has no trouble starting it from cold after < 6 kicks — but I can't get it going? (Not enough power using my prosthetic leg) I haven't had it going since July — So I'm going to let it go with'No Reserve'. It may take a little effort to get the bike started, as it hasn't been run since July — but it shouldn't be too big a deal as it's been properly stored with the cylinder silicone sprayed, the float bowls emptied, etc. I am going to run a 10 Day to two week auction to give anyone who's interested in seeing it in person — a couple of weekends to come by and take a look: I WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO SHOW THE BIKE ON THE WEEKENDS. I will assist with shipping (meaning I will meet your shipper at my place) But I WILL NOT BE OFFERING ANY SHIPPING SERVICE. SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER. This bike is being sold AS IS, WHERE IS, with NO WARRANTY offered or implied. See my FEEDBACK and bid with confidence.I am not interested in any trades. A $300 deposit is due via PayPal, within 24 hours of the auction close, with the balance to be paid in full on pick up (within 2 weeks of auction close). The bike is kept at my weekend lake house, therefore I will only be able to show the bike on weekends by appointment. I will NOT BE AVAILABLE (for post-auction pick-up) over the Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend (wednesday 11/23 through saturday 11/26). THIS AUCTION IS 'PICK-UP ONLY' — I will meet your shipper and help load, but WILL NOT CRATE, DELIVER, MEET HALFWAY, etc. Sorry. This Honda XR 600 is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time, should the bike sell locally. Not interested in trades. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
