Vehicle Detail
1953 M38A1 Jeep. The first year of the rounded fender Jeeps! Family owned since late 1960's. Stored since 1972. My uncle bought it surplus and drove it for a while, then it sat in his garage until about three years ago. I was going to restore it, but have too many others in line ahead of it, and I may never get to it! It is all there, and it's a decent restorable Jeep. It has some history that I discovered in my initial inspection of it. On the front differential housing there is a riveted metal plate that says "rebuilt by Japan Air Command" and a date in the mid 1950's. It was possibly a flight line "follow me" Jeep as it has the big military style electrical plug in the back and flag mounting points on the bumpers. Absent from the photos are the hood and fenders, of which I have all. It does not run. It rolls, and that's about it. I can effect delivery within a 250 mile radius for a flat fee of $200 plus 50c a mile both ways. Otherwise, shipping is up to the buyer, but I am happy to help with any logistics on this end to assist in the transfer to your carrier. Payment of a $500 deposit via PayPal is required within 24 hours after the winning bid. Balance due on pick up or within 7 days (whichever is sooner) in cash, certified check, or PayPal. Please e-mail me with any questions. Good luck!On Nov-09-11 at 04:38:32 PST, seller added the following information: I incorrectly identified this as the first year of the round fendered Jeeps. 1952 was the first year. The M38A1 is the first generation of the round fender Jeeps. Sorry for any confusion!
