Vehicle Detail

1977 Olds Cutlass Supreme Colonnade Coupe This is a fully-documented 77 actual miles car; no typo here! This car was never sold new. This car was test-driven less than 13 miles as a new car in New York. It has never been registered. It does have a clean, clear, New York title in hand. The new car dealership that ordered this car never sold it in the first year. It sat outside for the first year. The owner of the dealership, which was Philanz Oldsmobile Inc. in Rochester New York, stored it in a barn for 30 plus years. He put the car in a relative's name for $100, but wouldn't give her possession until he passed away about 4 years ago. A relative from Lebanon, Oregon purchased it 3 years ago, and had it shipped to Oregon and kept it in dry storage. I recently purchased the car and have been cleaning and detailing it. When I purchased the car it had 13 miles on it. It now has 77 miles on it as I drove it to get new tires and have maintenance done on the car. It had the original tires on it, but they needed to be replaced as they were dry-rotted. I replaced them with 215x75x15 Goodyear radials, which are equivalent to the GR 78/15 BFGs that came on it new. The trim rings and center caps are flawless; no curb scuffs here! I had the front rotors turned for trueness. When driven, I noted a slight pulsation as the factory didn't get the front rotors true. The original spare and jack have never been out other than to clean the trunk. The tire still has the factory blue coating on it. The car is very road-worthy with no signs of any oil, transmission, differential, or brake fluid leaks of any kind. The engine runs very smooth and quiet with no lifter noise, dry start, or rattles. The transmission shifts smooth as it should. There are no noises from the differential. The factory posi works fine. It comes well-optioned with: factory air; power windows; power seat; rear defogger; tilt wheel; power disc brakes; power trunk release; light group package including trunk, underhood, map, and courtesy lights; power antenna; am/fm stereo. Everything works as it should. The interior is exceptional; shows new with no cracks on dash or door panels. The seats have no tears, rips, stains, or worn areas. The carpet isn't worn or stained; some of the pics make it look a little dark, but it's shadowing. The dash cluster, gauge lenses are as new. The plastic chrome on the gauges cluster looks new. Headliner, visors are excellent. The package tray has one small hole in it. All seat belts are as new with no stains or fading. The door panels, armrests and pullstraps look new. No fading on the dash pad or tops of door panels. Shift lever, turn signal, and tilt wheel lever are not pitted and have very nice chrome. All glass is in excellent condition including the windshield. All the levers and switches are very firm and stiff as they should be for a car with this low mileage. The vinyl top is in excellent condition. It is still very pliable with no dry-rot, bubbling, or cracks. The body is very straight. There were minor door dings repaired before painting. No dent or rust repairs. Due to GM using water-based lacquer paint in the mid '70s, which did not hold up very well, the car was professionally repainted the original color around 2000 in base-coat/clear-coat; color sanded then buffed and hand-rubbed to perfection. The trunk is immaculate. The original mat is still in good condition. The factory zolitone trunk paint looks practically new. All window, door, and trunk seals are very pliable with no cracks or dry rot. I personally pressure washed and cleaned the undercarriage. I then painted the frame rails, rear end housing, all fender wells, front lower A-arms and all front end suspension components as the factory did not paint any undercarriage components at all; it was all bare metal. I didn't find any leaks, residue or build-up of any kind. I replaced the original puny front sway bar with a 1 1/8 inch over-sized with urethane bushings for better handling reasons. What a difference from stock! This car was ordered with the optional Olds 403 engine with 4 barrel. Turbo 350 transmission. The rear end is 241.1 ratio with anti-spin rear axels; posi, which was ordered optional. The engine compartment was disassembled and bracketry, nuts, bolts were all prepped and painted back to factory specs. Some bracketry and components were bare metal from factory and had surface rust. Since it was stored in New York in an old barn with a dirt floor, do no expect this car to be perfect as it is 34 years young. The original air cleaner flexible intake hose is on order and will be installed before close of auction. I also put in a new battery. It retains its original oil-filled spiral shocks. I would recommend a nice set of KYB shocks. Documentation: I have the new car envelope, original built sheet, dealer's order check-off sheet, owner's manual, dealer's showroom sales brochure, two sets of keys (one with the dealer tag and key blanks), Delco AM-FM stereo radio manual, 1977 Olds Consumer Information, warranty information for 1977, Olds Maintenance Schedule II, BFGoodrich tire warranty, original window sticker, manufacturer's statement of origin, dealer's copy of the window sticker stating that this vehicle base priced at $4680.65, options of $2,401.00; code 36 red metallic/white vinyl were $177. Total sticker price was $7,258.65; plus all of the odometer readings/disclosure statements and other documents shown in the pictures for proof of actual mileage. I can send pictures of the rest of the documentation to serious inquires. The Cutlass drives excellent and starts every time. It's a pleasure to drive and gets a lot of thumbs up! This car shows very minimal wear, but it isn't perfect as it is 34 years old. It can be driven and enjoyed daily, or stored away for another 34 years; your choice. This car is being sold as-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. I have tried to give as detailed a description as possible. If you have any questions please call me at 541-659-8697 as I won't be available for email enquiries all the time. I'd prefer to speak one-on-one with serious buyers. On Nov-07-11 at 09:12:06 PST, seller added the following information: I reserve the right to end the auction early as this car is for sale locally.
