This auction you are viewing is for a Honda Accord LX - 4 Door Sedan - Gold (Model Year 2000) with BRAND NEW BATTERY This has been a great family car that we have enjoyed for many years. The reason we are selling it is because we have outgrown it and need to move on to something larger. Additionally, there are a few repairs that we do not want to put the time and money into, knowing that we have to get a bigger vehicle anyway. We purchased it used in 2002 from our local Honda dealer (Very reputable - we have purchased another car from them since). We have been the only owners since we purchased it. There was one previous owner, and it had 40,000 miles when we bought it. Now it has 121,233 miles. While we have owned this car, it has NEVER been in any kind of accident (not even a minor fender bender). It is still a very good car, and would be great for someone who is good at fixing cars, or for a mechanic who needs parts. It has a brand new Sears DieHard battery that was just recently installed. One repair that needs to be done is that it needs a new exhaust system (muffler, catalytic converter, pipes, and parts). Currently it runs loud, as I chose to not have this repaired knowing that I already need to invest in a larger vehicle. It may also need some transmission service. Occasionally, the engine does not shift smoothly. Particularly during very aggressive driving conditions. Approximately one year ago, I had a professional mechanic drain and flush the transmission fluid. He put in new transmission fluid with some Lucas Brand Transmission Fluid additive. The Lucas fluid is a special product that cleans the gears and prevents/stops shifting problems. For the most part, this has worked great, and I have only notice shifting irregularities when I drive aggressively (which I try to avoid anyway). I do not know how long the transmission will last, so I can not make any guarantees on it. I believe it also needs a new starter. I have not had the starter checked by a professional mechanic so I can not make any guarantees on it, but the car has only had trouble starting in the past week (even after the installation of the new battery). This too is something that I chose not to repair due to my need for a larger vehicle. Aside from the muffler, transmission, and starter, there are no other serious issues that I am aware of other than minor wear and tear or cosmetics (which can be seen in my photos). This includes minor scratches to the front and rear bumpers, small cracks in the front air dam (probably from contact with a curb while parking), a few minor door dings, a very small amount of rust on the roof (where the roof and windshield meet), curb scratches on some of the plastic hub caps (from parallel parking), and some minor carpet stains on the floor. The body of the car is sound and in very good condition with NO dents or damage (aside from small scratches, minor door dings, and minor spot of roof rust mentioned above). The interior is clean and free of damage with no stains to the upholstery. However, the rear seats have slight impressions to the upholstery where child car seats were strapped (visible in photos) - these should brush out easily and there is NO damage to the upholstery as a result of the car seats. The engine has been kept in good working order with all fluid levels being maintained and regular oil changes. I have a print-out of the work history from the auto care center I regularly went to over the past three years (this does not include oil changes I did myself or had done at other facilities. There is no under body damage that I am aware of. I have described this vehicle to the best of my ability, trying to point out ANY damage or dysfunction that I am aware of. If there is anything wrong with it that is discovered after the sale, it is beyond my current knowledge and is the sole responsibility of the Buyer. It seems to suggest there was an incident reported on August 26, 2002 in Kearny, NJ, although it does not give any details as to the severity of any accident. I purchased the car in October of 2002, and I have a copy of the original Carfax Vehicle Report issued on October 7, 2002. There were no accident records reported for the car at that time. It has NOT been in ANY type of accident during my ownership (NOT even a minor fender bender), nor have I noticed any evidence that would suggest there was any accident prior to my ownership. I have owned the car for nearly 9 years and driven it almost every day. If there was any prior accident, it must have been minor and required simple repair because I have seen no evidence of it, and my mechanics have told me there are NO indications to suggest the car was ever in an accident.
