Not long ago, I thought I needed to move up to a bigger bike. I thought my DR650 was not going to cut it anymore, and I needed more displacement, bigger seat, more comforts, and overall something different. My search concluded at a V-Strom, and I figured, "well I might as well get the 1000, 'cause I'll eventually want it". So I went searching on the net, and found a beautiful 2003, with 38,000 miles, and a good owner. I really liked the bike, and started to talk to the owner about it. He told me that he bought it with just over 18,000 miles, and has kept details about all the maintenance history, and the bike was in great shape. After two weeks of talking back and forth, I took the ride from NY to VA to get her. 24 hours later, I had my dream bike, a Suzuki DL1000 in my garage! After riding the V-Strom, and lovin' its power, comfort, handling, highway abilities, and one trip upstate, I got tired of the weight. You see, I'm short, at 5'8" and a small inseam, and the DL1000 is a bit big for me. Even to just lug around the garage, its a hassle. I'm not that strong, and it takes a lot of effort on my part to hold it upright. I slowly started to find myself looking at the DR in envy, wanting to ride it more and more. Ultimately I made the decision to try and sell the DL1000, and give to to somebody that will appreciated all that it can give. 2003 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 in great condition 40,000 Miles Center stand Kaoko Throttle lock (my favorite feature) Dunlop Road Smart rear tire Dunlop D607 Front Painted lower cowl Both tall and Short windshield included Givi E42 Top case ECU remapped at 23,300 for common midrange issue, also was programmed to give more midrange torque. Throttle body sync at 23,700 New Ignition switch at 25,000 New Chain at 26,225 (Chain and sprockets are in Excellent condition) Good NYS inspection. Installed 12v outlet in the cockpit. Bigger mirrors Not a single scratch on the tank Tank bra It really is a great bike, and If i was not so short I would not be selling this. I was thinking about a trade for a DL650, but its going to be about the same. My loss is somebody else's gain. I bought it August 5th, and just received the NYS title today. It is ready to go.
