Up for sale is a 1988 BMW 535i. The car is really cool!!! It has been in TN its whole life. I would call the car super RARE because of the modifications that have been done. The odometer broke @ 223K miles and estimated mileage is between 250-260K. The guy i bought the car from owned it for 15 years and was in the process of prepping it for paint (that is why it is not very pretty!) The body is super straight with NO RUST and the car has never been wrecked. There are a few small spots of body work, Im guessing he filled in some door dings. The car has been primered and some sanding has been done. The car was going to be converted to black and three of the door jams were painted. The vehicle is in excellent mechanical shape and runs great! Has been maintained properly and I even have the manuals and service records showing regular maint. from previous owners. Now for all the fun stuff!!! The car has bilstein sport suspension and handles like its on rails! Has Jim Conforti performance chip and cat back B&B Tri-flow exhaust. It feels to me like a short throw shifter has been installed but I cant say for sure. It has a set of e34 5-series wheels in mint condition (see picture) with decent falken sport tires. The car is somewhat rare in that the front seats were replaced with a set of power sport seats from a 535is that are fully functional. It also comes with front and rear EURO bumpers ordered from Germany. Finally, it has what I was told is a Hamann lower front valance (makes it look super aggressive!) and has an e28 M5 trunk spoiler. You will notice in the pictures that all of the exterior trim has been removed from the car for paint prep. The car is complete and everything missing will come with car. There is a large box of interior pieces and the trunk is full of the remaining exterior parts. Everything on the vehicle works including all lights, gauges, windows, and sunroof. The car has AC and cruise but the AC does not work and the fan was removed for paint prep but is in the trunk. There is also a K&N performance filter in the trunk but the stock one is on the car now. Clutch and brakes feel good but the brakes could stand to be adjusted as the wheel shimmies if you brake hard at freeway speeds. Overall, car is in above average shape in my opinion for the age and would look unbelievable with a nice paint job and the front seats recovered to match the rest of the interior! It drives down the highway straight and while I cant guarantee that it will do a cross country trip without any issues (I don't think anyone can guarantee this with any vehicle...), I wouldn't hesitate to jump in it and drive it anywhere!
