Vehicle Detail
Up for Last and Final Auction is my 1988 Mustang GT Convertible. I am at my bottom line for pricing right now. Motor and automatic transmission have less than 5,000 miles on them, not to mention this car has so many upgrades and customized parts, with a total of around $25k invested in it over the past 15 years I have owned it. Pictures in ad were taken about 3 weeks ago so no surprises, paint still looks great, as it has been sitting in a garage for its duration. I listed the car at 5,000 miles due to the fact that no parts on the vehicle are older than that, such as the motor, trans, top, paint, etc... In reality the car itself from build date till now has about 120k on it. I apologize, I didnt clean the interior when I took the pics, so pictures are showing a bit of dust. The car has sat for 6 years due to my lack of interest in it. Im just too old and tired and with my job do not have time or money to continue working on it. My wife pushed me to sell the car so she can put her car in its place in the garage. Im going to part it out after this auction ends, if I don't get my asking price, simply because the parts on it will get me way more than my first bid price of $4500.00. NO RESERVE. Make my loss your gain on this one. You will not be disappointed. I can also end this auction early for a reasonable offer. The "imperfections of the car": Keep in mind you are buying a car that is over 20 years old here.... 1....The main problem of this vehicle is one spark plug, has damaged threads. I attempted to change the plug, and damaged the threads in the head. The plug is now stuck in the head and the cylinder is not firing. The car is running on 7 cylinders at the moment and that is the main issue that has to be dealt with. You can drive the car, but it will not smoothly idle as the one plug is simply not firing. There is nothing wrong with the block, just in my honest opinion, from the car sitting so long, the bottom of the plugs rusted a bit and when I tried to remove the plug, the rust on the plug damaged the aluminum threads in the head. Car ran fine before I changed and attempted to remove this plug. Car was listed at 7,000 dollars originally and I lowered the price significantly, to compensate for either the need to purchase a new head, or to repair the head. Please do not hesistate to ask me any questions on this, as I will be completely honest!!!!!!!!! 2...The E brake does not lock into place, New cables were installed, and it will lock the wheels when pulling up on the brake handle, but the handle will just not "lock" into place. I think it is a simple fix, I just dont have the energy to do it anymore. (I may attempt to fix this but cannot guarantee I'll have it done by the time the auction ends. 3....I installed a brand new digital dash $800.00 (plug and play) that I hate. It works when it feels like it, and is not very accurate at times. It reset itself one time, and came up with a rediculous amount of miles on it (its in picture, like 59k or something, you can see it in the pictures) which is completely inaccurate. ANYWAY, I have a great condition original GT gauge cluster that goes with the car, that I will include with the sale of vehicle. 4...Front door glasses are from a t-top mustang and do not line up perfectly. I am including the correct door glasses with the car. It has never been an issue for me because the car is always garaged, but there is a small gap in upper front corner where glass meets the convertible top and frame....again something I just don't feel like doing at this point. I have washed the car this way with no issues, to give you an idea of the "severity" of the minor gap. 5.The center console has been modified to accomodate some switches and knobs. I am including a perfect condition, unmodified center console piece to replace the modified piece. Along with the e-brake issue, I might attempt to install this as well. If so, the modified one will be included as well. THE GOOD: Completely New: battery (moved to trunk), belt, coil, MAF, injectors, CAI, X-pipe, headers.Almost New: paint, canvas top, motor, trans, rear, leather custom seats, new windshield, headlights, fog lights, bolted/welded 4 pt roll bar, Corbeau seat belts, etc, etc...Engine specs: 306, forged pistons and rods, Trick Flow heads (ported by ram racing), Trick Flow intake, custom Erson cam (cam card included), 24lb injectors, MSD coil, LiveWires, Pro-M meter, Accufab TB. Huge Aluminum radiator and HD electric fan, Kenne Bell Boost-a-Pump. AOD trans was rebuilt/upgraded less then 5K miles ago. Precision purple 2800 stall non-lockup torque converter. 3.55 gears and rear discs installed less then 5K miles ago. (Rear was rebuilt by Weston's) Shifts perfectly. So much else has been done/upgraded...battle boxes, subframe connectors, larger front calipers, shocks, struts, springs, Adj. rear control arms, Cervini's hood and Stalker/Cobra bumpers, Flowmasters, chrome pipes, ROH 17" wheels, slotted rotors, stainless brake lines, Khumho's up front, BFG drag radials on the rear, etc.Stereo is awesome, all high end and custom sub box/amp rack in trunk. Battery is also in trunk. Newer headlights/marker lights, lots of polished aluminum and chrome. Custom touches all over the car. Too much to list. I know I may be leaving out a ton of things, so feel free to ask any questions you may have. Anything I may of left out is only to your benefit, as I simply cannot remember everything I have done over the past 15 years. Thanks for looking at my car. Car as sold AS-IS, buyer responsible for shipping. FEEL FREE TO COME LOOK AT IT AT ANY TIME. I ENCOURAGE IT AS I DO NOT THINK YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. .
