1963 VW BEETLE RAGTOP TOTALLY RUST FREE AND VERY ORIGINAL WITH JUST 21,462 ORIGINAL MILES!!! Hello everyone, especially VW enthusiasts, you are viewing a classic fun part of german history. Now before I get to far into the description I want to mention that there is about 200 full page pictures and a 15 minute walk around video of the starting and running below, please give them about 40 seconds to load. I also wanted to mention my contact tel # which is 570-875-7109. If anyone has ANY questions please feel free to pick up the phone and call me. Also if anyone wants to inquire about a buy it now please feel free to call and we can discuss it and I can add one to the auction so that it can be ended early. This next to new 1963 VW Beetle Ragtop that has been fully professianlly restored in certian areas, while other areas are still original from 1963. I will go over the original parts as well as the fully restored parts. This Beetle is finished in a rare special order color combination of Anthracite( code L469) and is complimented with it's ORIGINAL 2 tone Salmon and cream interior, finished off with a new dark Brown RagTop. This VW Super beetle is powered by its rebuilt 1200 CC 4-Cylinder Air Cooled Engine that kicks out 40 H.P. at 4000 RPM and all power is transferred by its very easy shifting 4-Speed manual transmission. With the drive train combination and the total light weight of these Beetles these car’s can get over 40 miles per gallon. You will see in the following photos is a very original 1963 Volkswagen Beetle Ragtop, presented in a very fresh and unique color that is ready for a beach outing or to your next cruise night or car show. Just a couple months ago this Beetle Ragtop received all new exterior paint, only, on a total original steelmetal rust free body. The only piece of sheetmetal which is not original to the car is the drivers side front fender. It had a dent in it and it instead of trying to get the dent out so smooth that no filler was needed, it was just easier to replace the fender with another rust and dent free fender. Other than that it is all original rust free sheetmetal! The floors are still the unmolested original with never any rust, rare for a beetle which still has most of it's original paint from 1963. In addition to the car having original pain on the underside and top of the floors, it also has all ORIGINAL PAINT in all of the following areas: Floors, inner fenders, inside of both doors, door jams both sides, complete dash area, steering column, under trunk lid, trunk lid hinges, complete trunk, under engine lid, engine lid hinges. This paint is very clean and colorful and it matches the new exterior paint perfectly. It was decided to keep as much great condition original paint as possible in these areas. In addition the car still retains it's original front and back seats, including it's original upholstery. The car also retains it's original door panels, armrests, every knob in the interior and rear panels. The interior also received new carpeting and a new Ragtop. The top frame was disassembled and fully repainted back to original. The car has also new heat exchangers installed which is not easy. So yes the heat/defroster does work! Also the car recieved all new weather stripping everywhere! The car recieved all new exterior trim as well as entire all new german hupcaps. Again not the japan crap knock offs but real factory style quality made from Germany or Brazil. The previous owner had the drive train looked over and rebuilt and everything was in good working order also the carb was rebuilt to complete the project. The Beetle had all of it's brakes all redone, has all new tires, new plugs, wires, 6V battery(this is still a 6V original system), lights, suspension was gone over and any parts that needed reaplced were replaced with new for ride comfort and safety. Anything that needed to be changed for safety and to get the car inspected was performed. Everything works on this Beetle Bug as it should, with the only exception being the original radio. I am sure it can be sent out to get it working but I did not care if the AM radio worked so it is up to the next owner. It is in incredible condition so it would not take much to get it back in working condition. Besides that everything works as it should. The lights, horn, wipers, turnsignals, brakelights, gauges, etc. all work as they should. The windows go up and down with ease, not hard at all. They were all taken apart, made sure nothing was broken, put back together and lubed. The glass is all German glass and is all original and in very good condition(no scratches or chips)! When the exterior of the car was painted all of the windows were removed to paint propery and all new window seals were installed. The new Ragtop also works with ease, it was all taken apart and cleaned and the frame resrayed and propery lubed and the new dark brown vinyl top was installed. Everything on this Beetle works the way they were meant to work from the factory. One look at the photos and video of this German Bug will give everyone a good idea of how much time, love and money went into the restoration. Also the parts of this Bug that are still untouched from 1963 show how well this car was kept since 1963. Now the only thing that the new owner might want to get redone is the original bumpers they are showing chrome fade on both. I did not want to change the originals and was ok with the way they are but could use rechromed if you are picky. The car was kept inside near all of it's life and was not driven in ANY winters and from how much original paint in on the underside and in the wheel wells, in very good condition, it is safe to say this car was not driven much in the rain as well. Vehicle Highlights: ORIGINAL 1200 CC ENGINE/TRANSMISSION PROFESSIONAL EXTERIOR REPAINT IN THE ORIGINAL RARE ANTHRACITE. ALSO MATCHES THE ORIGINAL PAINT PERFECTLY. OK, Here is the 15 minue video. All you have to do is click on the arrow and don't forget to turn up your speakers. I hope everyone could view and hear the 15 minute video and can see how original and nice this beetle is. Now lets get to the 200+ full page detailed pictures. Now lets look at the untouched original floors and inner fender wells with all original paint from 1963! Yes they could have been reprayed or had undercoating spayed in but that would have been a crime. These are untouched from 1963 and are in incredible condition and show how well this car was kept over that past 48 years. Now lets see the original tool kit, jack assembly and trunk liner(all original). Also please take note of the original paint under the trunk lid, trunk lid hinges, cowl area and under the spare tire. Also please look close at the original sticker from the VW factory showing the original paint color as Anthracite. How many times do you see that still intact? Now lets look at the engine compartment. Remember that all the paint in the engine compartment and under the lid is all original. Also the sound deadner and heat panels are all original from 1963 as well. Please note that the engine and transmission are also the originals that this car was born with in germany before it was exported to the USA. Now here is the original German glass! Now lets look at the doorjams, dash and inside the doors that show the original beautiful paint. Also please note the 3 stickers on the drivers door that show previous services back in the early 60's. It just helps to prove the original paint. The stickers match the original factory service book stampings. Also at the same time look at the original seat upholstry(front and back) and also the original doorpanels and the original back inside panels. These are like new, like it just rolled off the assembly line in 63. I hope everyone gets a real good idea of how original nice this car is. Again if anyone has any questions please feel free to call me directly at 570-875-7109. I would be happy to answer ANY questions you might have. I would also be happy to show the car to anyone, that is a serious buyer. You can come and look over anything you like. We can take it for a ride and show you that the car needs nothing and runs and drives the way a restored car should. For those that can't come and look at the car in person because it is too far for you. Please look over the 200 pictures very carefully, they speak for themselves or better yet look over my 100% positive feedback. It is 100% for a reason. When I sell something on Ebay I describe it how it REALLY is, No bull here, only facts on how something is and thats the way it should be. Period... It takes near 5 hours to put a auction like this on Ebay so please if you can't afford the car please DO NOT bid on it. If you have to get a loan please get approved 1st and not try after you were the winning bidder. Sorry to have to go over this but it has to be mentioned. Good luck to all but please be aware that the car is also advertised elsewhere locally and I have the right to end the auction at anytime. So please call me directly at 570-875-7109 if you would like to inquire about a buy it now. If we agree on the price I will add it to the auction so it can be ended early. Thanks for your interest and have a great day! On Oct-23-11 at 13:49:24 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello everyone, I have been getting alot of calls on the Beetle and some asking about a couple more pictures that people want to see, so here they are. I figured that I would put them in the auctions so everyone can see them. They show under the factory trunk mat and under the factory padding that is stuck on from the factory. As you can see it shows no cuts in the original wires as well you can see factory chalk marks and tape used from 1963 to hold the wires in place. I also included pictures of the original service brochure that show the chassis vin stamping and also the engine stamping which both match the car and the engine, so again yes this is a numbers matching car engine and all. Lastly, I also included pictures of behind the panel in the trunk area that show all of the factory wiring in perfect condition that are completly UNCUT and UNTOUCHED. Also it shows the rust free components like the speedometer assembly, radio, VW tubes, wiper assembly, etc. In perfect original rust free condition like it just came from the factory. You just don't see a car in this kind of condition from 1963. Please see below all of the pictures mentioned above. If anyone has any questions please feel free to email or better yet call 570-875-7109. We are getting closer to the reserve we are not to far off. Thanks everyone.
