Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a newly restored 1974 Pontiac Firebird Esprit; this is a replica of the famed car that James Garner aka Jim Rockford tooled around in on his TV show "The Rockford Files" from 1974 -1980. Has lots of newly restored features and runs beautifully. The car sports the correct ’74 Denver Gold coloring with all stock chome and correct bodyline molding and emblems. All of the quarters have been replaced with new sheetmetal and are solid, there are a few expected wavy spots where new metal had to be blended to old so a few seams and lines are off- but is is done well and doesn't detract from the car's look. New front rubber filler panel and new chrome wheel trim all around. The car has newer springs and all new suspension with brake pads & springs. E-brake holds well. Has the normal nicks and scuffs of a good driver car- this is not a 100 point concourse show car restoration. The interior is the stock deluxe package of horse-collar style bucket seats and Esprit package upgrades. The interior is all original and unaltered- all features are stock and function well except for the radio- can’t get it to work; a Delco AM/FM model. The only two items cosmetically it needs yet are a new headliner and the plastic caps for the door pulls- that’s it. The original vinyl seats are in great shape with only one minor sun fading and a very small tear at a seam under the driver’s butt- but it can’t be seem until you push on it. Has rare power windows and they both work well! Has AC but it doesn’t blow cold so it probably needs a recharge- heater works well and blower motor works as it should. All lights and signals function properly. The Michelin tires are newer (under 100 miles) with the correct whitewalls on original GM Rally wheels with chome rings and caps. Has the dual exhaust on the 350 motor which starts reliably and runs perfectly- she’ll cruise comfortably at 60+ mph with little effort. At 40mph the motor is very quiet and sounds tight. Recently had the radiator replaced, new hoses and other wear and tear items as well. Zero rust and even the trunk is solid with original carpeting, jack, handle and original spare tire- comes with original book as well. These are very hard models to find in this pristine of stock shape. Now you can catch the bad guys Rockford style. Winner to pay $500 non-refundable down payment within 24 hours of auction victory through PayPal and balance due before vehicle is picked-up. Cash is king but we can work something out if an alternative is needed- like PayPal. Email questions to anteekguy97@aol.com. Has clear title in my name. Thanks for looking! On Oct-16-11 at 12:58:49 PDT, seller added the following information: I am adding close-ups of every quarter panel, front damage from an accident and a door jamb with a small hole in it. This could be helpful to bidders- over the lifetime of this car it has seen a few fender-benders. Want full-disclosure with this nice Bird.On Oct-16-11 at 13:35:07 PDT, seller added the following information: In the image of the roof- there are some tiny bubbles from the paint job- it is hard to see and it can be wet-sanded out. Unless you run your hand across it- they aren't very noticeable. On Oct-19-11 at 15:27:10 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer a question: this car was originally GM code #53- Denver Gold in 1974 and has remained that color, it originally had a landau top but was removed, there is a rost hole that are through when it had the fabric top behind the top of the rear chrome trim. It is faintly visible behind the top rear trim, I just never drove it in the rain to really care. I suspect it could be plugged up from either side.
