Vehicle Detail
1975 Honda CB550-Four K1 Jade Green 4800 Original Miles ! Description: Up for sale is my 1975 Honda CB550-Four K1 Motorcycle. It is unrestored, in near-mint condition with 4800 original miles. Clear Washington State title. This bike has an inline 4-cylinder 550cc motor, with 50 horsepower and 5 speeds. The VIN is CB5501212xxx. The color is factory "Jade" green. It is all tuned up, with a good battery and fresh oil, ready to ride. Included is a Clymer service manual, plus a factory parts list and service manual on disc. This is a NO RESERVE auction ! I bought this bike from the original owner a few years ago with almost no miles on it. (He cruised around one summer, then put it in the garage under a blanket for 30+ years). I collect older Hondas, but this one is too pretty so I never ride it (the last tabs I bought was in 2008). I had dreams of showing it some day, but now I need the garage space. The only additions I've made to it are the "superbike" bars and a Dyna electronic ignition kit (pointless ignition, high-output coils and plug wires). I have the original ignition parts, if you want to put them back on to show it. Its a direct replacement kit, so nothing was done to the bike itself (no holes drilled, no wires clipped). The gauges also had the usual fading in the red areas, so I replaced them both (factory NOS Nippon Seiki). They were unique to the 1975 models and were almost impossible to find. Nothing mechanically has been done other than the usual tune-up stuff:     oil, filter & plugs     new carb kits     brake master seal kit     fork oil replaced Every last thing is complete, down to the factory float bowl drain hoses and brake bleeder nipple. It is all fully functional, even the original turn-signal buzzer. This bike starts and runs (and stops) like it's new. As for the negatives, there are three cosmetic issues: (1) The right upper muffler had a rust spot on the inside that was repaired (it has to be removed to be seen), and some light corrosion around the weld (see photo). (2) The tank has some scratches in one spot, and the chrome trim is wrinkled (see photo). I have a new trim piece, but never got around to it. (3) There is one tiny ding in the front fender. It would not photograph. These could all be remedied by a professional, but they are above my pay grade. The bike is located in downtown Seattle, Washington, and is available for inspection. I will hold the bike for up to 30 days ($500 non-refundable deposit due within 7 days of auction close). Fly here and I'll run it down to the airport for free! Shipping: If you want to have this bike shipped, you will have to arrange it from your end. My zip code is 98108, and the bike weighs about 425 lbs. There are many motorcycle shipping companies out there, and the going rate seems to be about $400 to $500 depending on the distance. Most do not require any preparation (oil & gas drained or battery removed), but I can do whatever they require. If it will save you a pickup fee, I will deliver it within the Seattle area for free. Below is a link to a reputable shipping company. I would highly recommend shopping around, and/or asking your local bike shop.
