Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1990 4runner with a jspec 1JZGTE twin turbo supra swap. The chassis has a little over 157,000 miles and the 1JZ motor has about 60,000 miles. This swap was performed by a supra shop that specializes in the 1JZ and 2JZ motor swaps so everything was done correctly. Here is a list of the new parts used and things that were performed for the swap. 1JZGTE jspec supra twin turbo motor 2JZGTE jspec 6 speed twin turbo engine harness, modified to work with the 4runner 2JZGTE jspec 6 speed twin turbo ecu 2JZGTE jspec 440cc injectors Custom Modified motor mounts Custom Modified Aluminum radiator Custom Modified front mount intercooler Custom Modified 3 inch exhaust and muffler Custom Modified -6 fuel line Custom Modified 3 inch intake and filter Custom Modified power steering setup Custom Modified Bell housing to bolt up 1JZ to 4runner transmission Brand new upgraded 6 puck clutch, handles 500hp Mobil One 10w30 oil Royal Purple synchromax in transmission A lot of fabrication time went into this setup as the 4runner was never made to fit a turbo motor. This 4runner is a blast to drive. The power comes on quick and pulls strong all the way to 7000 rpm! I built this 4runner as a daily driver since the 1JZ motor gets 25mpg and it's very reliable. I have it set at 11 pounds of boost right now and it has plenty of power. I increased the boost to 15 pounds and put it on the dyno a few weeks ago and it made 306 rwhp, which is about 350 horsepower at the crank. Since I installed the 2jz harness, ecu and 440cc injectors you can put a small single turbo on it and make 500 hp with adding any engine management or fuel. This is a 20 year old 4runner, so the body has a few rust spots and the drivers seat has the normal tear on the bolster. The carpet is a little dirty also. The rear window doesn't work but I bought the upgraded switch to make that work, just needs to be installed. As far as I know all the suspension, control arms, etc are factory original and have never been upgraded. The 4runner does not have A/C. Because the fitment was so tight with the motor I had to pull the a/c condenser out to fit the front mount intercooler. I have looked into an aftermarket setup with a/c lines and it looks to be about $800 plus installation. So if you're looking for a fun truck with 350hp to play around with or daily drive, this is it. I've been daily driving this for 4 months with no issues. It's surprised many Mustangs and Camaros on the highway. It is a 4runner so I will admit it doesn't feel that safe at 120mph. Please give me a call if you're a serious buyer and I can answer any questions you might have in detail. Thanks, David 801-940-3339
