Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1975 Buick Lesabre Custom Convertible. The car is showing 80,130 miles at this time. I cannot verify if those are original miles or not. I have had this car for 6 years and have only put a little under 3,000 miles on it in that time. I have the receipts for the things I have had done since I’ve owned it. The first thing I did was install new tires @ $439.60 although the tread is still very good, the car did sit a lot waiting for good top down weather. I then had the brake hoses replaced and the brake system flushed @ $328.47 At this time I noticed various lighting issues with the car and had much of the system rewired @ $702.50 At that point I had the transmission resealed @ $ 450.00 Other than a battery that’s where I am at with this car. I do have service receipts from the previous owner that I will include. The Buick has been very reliable for me. I would only drive it top down in cooler months, so much of the time I have owned it was spent parked. Yet every time I wanted to take it for a drive, it would start right up. It’s what is commonly referred to as a “twenty footer”, from twenty feet away it looks great. It is a pretty solid car that could be used as I did, a good weather driver, or it would be a great candidate for restoration. The Buick has a white exterior with White and Burgundy interior. It has the 350CI 4barrel motor. This car came with power windows, power steering, power brakes, and power bench seat. All of which are in working order. It has a power top which works very well but is a little faded. It was a factory AC car, but that is not working and I never looked into it because I would always drive it with top down. It has the glass rear window and the optional factory parade boot. I have seen the parade boot for sale for over $500. It has 5 Buick Rally Rims with all five caps. I will also include the car cover shown in the photos. Over the years I have acquired the sales brochure for 1975 along with the owner’s manual and I ordered from the Sloan Museum, a VIN research car order guide that shows the corresponding options when deciphering the VIN #. According to this research, the car was purchased from a dealer in Phoenix which may explain why the body is still in such nice shape if this has been a west coast car. This Buick is going on 37 years old and certain areas of the car do show it. I will list all of the known issues with the car to the best of my ability. The body is straight but there are some minor dings and paint chips. The fiberglass fillers at the front bumper corners are showing some cracking, very common on these old cars. The driver’s door seems like it could be aligned, it is sometimes a little tough to get swinging. The car needs weather-stripping all around, the hot temps have really dried it out. The power window motors are all working however the rear windows seem to be off the rollers and need to be guided into place by hand. The power antenna motor runs but does not retract the antenna all the way down. The gas gauge does not always go past ¼ tank. There is an extra float in the trunk that came with the car when I bought it. There is a tear in the driver’s door panel about 3 inches wide. In general the interior is in fair shape, most of the problems are due to the sun fading. The dash has some cracking and is at worst on the left and right sides. The armrest housing is pretty dry rot as well. Two things that I had noticed after I purchased it were a hole worn into the carpet on the passenger side and the steering wheel seems to have been over greased or something. When the weather warms up, the wheel gets very sticky. This has always puzzled me. I have tried to show all the good and bad with this car in the photos. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
