You are bidding my my 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton W12 Premier Edition. The VW Phaeton will be remembered as one of the best cars ever made, with unmatched levels of engineering, luxury, and power. My car is a great example of this fine model. This car is in excellent condition, both mechanically and cosmetically and will be a great addition to your collection. Previous Owner History I am the third owner of the car. The car was initially leased by a Volkswagen executive. It was then owned by a Phaeton enthusiast in North Carolina. This gentleman owned the car for most of its life. He was a Phaeton enthusiast, actively participating on the Phaeton Forum on VW Vortex. He always garaged it, and had it serviced at his local VW dealer. He added the chrome accents around the front lower bumper and fog lights. I purchased the car from this gentlemen in December of 2010, flying down to NC to pick the car up. It was evident from the moment he pulled car out of the driveway that this car was his baby. It looked perfect! My Ownership Experience I have had a great ownership experience with the car. I have taken it on a few business trips up and down the Mid-Atlantic states and it has made each journey a pleasant one. I serviced the car at my local VW dealer and have all of the records. I had them do the 90k service shortly after I purchased the and did the 100k service last month. I also had them do a full interior and exterior detail on the car. The car has ZERO mechanical issues that I am aware of. I recently put a new set of Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tires on the car, at an expense of over $1,000. These are top of the line touring tires and I have only put a few hundred miles on them. I also replaced the brakes and rotors during the Spring of this year. HeadlampsI also retrofitted the VW OEM European market dual xenon headlamps to the car. The North American headlamps (on every other Phaeton for sale in the U.S.) have a xenon low beam (outside position) and a halogen high beam (inner position). The European OEM headlamps have both a xenon inner (low) and outer (high) beam. The Euro headlamps improve both the functionality and the look of the car. I performed the retrofit using the VW Factory Service Manual and only genuine VW parts. My work was inspected and the lights were aligned by techs at my local VW dealer. This retrofit alone would cost over $4,000 if done at a dealer. OEM North American Spec Headlamp. This has a xenon low beam and a halogen high beam. This is what you'll find on nearly all American market Phaetons for sale. I know of no mechanical or cosmetic issues worth mentioning. In the case of mechanical issues, there are absolutely none that I know of. It was just serviced by a VW dealer and took nothing. As far as cosmetics go, the car is a stunner. If you look closely, you may see a few minor stone chips on the front end (fewer than most cars with 90k+ miles) and the wheels show a but of curb rash in a few spots. These are both things that only an unreasonable car buyer would take issue with. The car is in better condition that 90% of Phaeton's you will find on the market.
