You want the 1.8 turbocharged engine (150 HP) combined with a manual transmission. Driving is much more fun due to more power, quicker acceleration and better shifting controls. The car drives like a go cart and it is considerable less expensive than a Mini Cooper. Try for yourself if you don’t believe and test a 2.0 Liter non-turbocharged engine (115 HP) with automatic transmission. Yes, it is boring… The reason why we sell the car is simple. My wife is pregnant and we tried to put an infant seat in the rear seat row and it wouldn’t fit. So we bought a 4-door AUDI (turbocharged with manual transmission Who said families shouldn’t have fun? ;-) History We purchased this car in July 2008 through eBay from a dealer in Orlando, FL. It was accident free. My wife had a minor accident in January 2010. She slightly touched a BMW on a two lane road. There are some small minor scratches on the left front bumper. It is barely noticeable if you don’t search for it. So we never invested in a paint job. Equipment · 4 Airbags (driver, passenger, side airbags) · ABS & ASR · Air Condition · Electric sunroof · Cruise control · Radio with CD · Electric window openers, power doors, electric rear view mirrors with heater · Electric switches for trunk release and fuel lid · Fog lights · Split rear seat row to increase trunk volume · Only 1 key (we never had a spare key) Condition · All electrics features are working fine · Aftermarket CD radio installed, because the VW radio had a cassette player only · Changed oil on regular basis and serviced car at certified shops only · Replaced battery in 2008 · Replaced timing belt and water pump in 2010 (good for another 80,000 miles), AC maintained as well · Glove department has a broken hinge (left side), it works but it is annoying to close, we stopped using it… · The background lighting (night lighting) of the heater/AC unit quit working, light bulb needs to be replaced (AC and heater work just fine) · The yellow Beetle light is on (main display), VW checked it out and found no fault code in the software (this was in 2009), so we never did anything and the car works just fine · Tires are in good condition and have ca. 50% tread left Appearance It is a good looking car, but time doesn’t stop like for any other 11 year old vehicle. There are several minor scratches on the outside and inside. Some plastic parts have faded colors and lost their initial shine due to the hot summer months in Florida and South Carolina. There is some discoloration on the rear seats. Some of the interior plastic panels are cheaply coated by VW and lost their coating (see steering wheel as an example, silver coating came off at the outsides of the crossbar). None of the described appearance issues influence proper functioning of the car. Summary We had a good time with our Beetle and never had a major technical issue like a breakdown. The engine is running smooth and should be good for another 90K.The car is fun and sporty to drive with a lot of extra safety features (ABS, ASR, 4 Airbags). We always got compliments on the car. Shipping If you need help getting your car to your location we can arrange for the tow back service. We would add on the cost to your bill but the wife is in the moving industry and has access to good rates. For example we had our car transported for $320 from Orlando, FL to Charleston, SC. Warranty This is a private sale and there is no warranty. The car is sold as is. On Sep-25-11 at 13:33:51 PDT, seller added the following information:
