Please paste http://photobucket.com/cadillacconvt1956 into your browser for more snapshots of the car. Recently we added a pencil rubbing of the ID Plate! We keep adding photos because the car is gorgeous and needs a new home, take a look online and see what we mean! The restoration work was done with care by a craftsman who loves 1956 Cadillacs. Please bid today! On Sep-28-11 at 19:27:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Convertible top rain gutter still has aquamarine paint on it,  and shows no sign of deterioration---top would need new weatherstripping---temp gauge (new sending unit), gas gauge, oil and gen. indicators, direct signals, emergency brake indicator and even ignition switch light and of course dash lights---all work---autronic eye needs new vibrator tube and then should work (high and low beams still work properly) will include extra autronic eye with car--- radio, clock and antenna are complete, properly wired but don't work (will include spare radio and foot pedal switch with car)--- Was told I had incorrect cigarette lighters in rear, and now have correct ones---now have good spare in trunk mounted on refinished '56 cad rim, all rims have been refinished minus tires, then tires were mounted and balanced---license plate light has been totally restored with original glass lens and stainless screws for E-Z bulb replacement---tail-light gas fill linkage is tight and similar to new---vertical front cushions need repair in upper outer corners, lower front cushion needs driver corner repair, mainly re-stitching as visible in pictures --- rear lower cushion is perfect (leaf shows in picture and looks like a tear) rear upper cushion seems to have padding flattened out under white portion, lower portion of upper cushion that is red is perfect, the leather is very soft and comfortable to sit on---rear view mirror has good glass---power seat and windows work good,  rear quarter windows will need weather strip and lining in guides, car has new battery, battery box, fuel pump, fuel bowl assembly, heater hoses, vac advance unit, manifold heat control valve, voltage reg, hubcap medallions, rear bumper end exhaust insert---car has rebuilt starter, generator, master cylinder, wheel cylinders---both blower motors work good---tinted windshield is in very good condition---visors are perfect---hood still has original piece of asphalt rubber to prevent air from going over top of radiator attached---horns will wake the dead---firewall data plate in perfect condition---rebuilt engine runs great, I've let it sit sometimes 3-4 months in the back of my garage without starting and have never heard lister noise when I start it. I am going to miss the fact that I will never take it down the highway, I drive it around my yard and She just feels like She wants to go---I have drained the engine down numerous times and have never seen sediment in anti-freeze, engine block must be spotless---chrome and stainless trim has been reinstalled with all correct '56 clips, none are missing---all have been painted and sometimes lubricated for ease of removal, bumpers have been reassembled with all correct and like new 1956 hardware, will come apart easily if you want to have anything re-plated. I defy you to find a more solid lower front bumper bar! they may have better chrome but the metal will not be as thick---I have bypassed Harrison Heater control valve, I do not use them, When they leak, they leak inside the car soaking your jute before you know it's leaking, who needs that. You can use a ball check valve or what I use on fleetwood show car is a solid cylinder five inches long, 5/8th of an inch wide inside 3/4 inch hose and hose clamp on outside (close and open hose clamp) Will include Harrison control valve if you want to go that route---stainless rocker panel moldings go with car but would need some minor metal work. I don't have them on Fleetwood show car and no one has ever noticed, they are really low under the car and just collects sand, water even as show car (you have to wash it)   Car came with interesting leather bound brass screen protecting the radiator??? I will include that also. Car comes with numbered keys---all interior & exterior lights work perfectly, wiring in excellent condition, over the years, I've always left batteries connected and never had car discharge battery---dome light has switch incorporated into top mechanism which will not allow dome light to be energized when top is down. On Sep-29-11 at 17:55:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Original '56 engine which was stuck was replaced with freshly rebuilt engine purchased as package deal from local guy who completely disassembled 56 coupe, sent engine and transmission to be rebuilt, chrome to be plated stainless to be buffed even removed back window from coupe and never had a prayer to reassemble it---original engine is now free piston rod assemblies removed, an easy rebuild(bearings rings and a valve job) goes with the car if you want it---have driver's door GM tag  with rebuilt engine number on it---four inch diameter heater blower hoses are the original stainless steel impregnated rubber hoses, not home depot dryer hoses---heater defroster and vent cables removed and lubricated---air vents open and close perfectly, belt seal on vent doors ilk,e new---under hood air vent chambers were removed, chambers and areas of firewall they covered were refinished, foam insulation was added too fiberglass already in chamber adding more insulation from heat of engine and chambers reinstalled---best part of a 56 cad is great vents---fender skirts remove and install with ease.On Sep-29-11 at 18:00:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Have received warning from my bank regarding problems other Ebayer's have had with cashier's checks. I have changed my mind regarding transactions with them. If buyer wins this auction, buyer agrees to pay me by wire transfer only.On Sep-29-11 at 19:52:50 PDT, seller added the following information: More photos added!
