Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS. I has the 4 cylinder motor with shiftable sportronic automatic transmission. Not sure of the exact name, but the exterior color is sort of a pearl white. Interior is black. Has cold AC, power windows and locks, infinity sound system with CD, tilt, cruise, power sliding sunroof, rear defrost, alloy wheels, dual airbags, and original floormats. Motor runs great and has good power for a 4 cylinder. Transmission shifts perfectly in both auto and manual modes. Has fairly new tires with at least 70-80% tread left and the battery is about 6 months old. This is a very dependable car and I wouldn't hesitate to take a roadtrip in it anywhere. It does have a few minor quirks that do not effect the function of the car. These known problems with the car are as follows: This car is equipped with keyless entry, but the remote has been lost. The heater does not work. I was told this could be a heater coil, thermostat, or temperature control knob. The front plastic piece below the bumper is damaged. It is cracked and has a small piece of plastic missing, but is still sturdily in place and is not a problem other than the cosmetics. This occured from a truck having a blowout and a piece of the tire hit it. A body shop quoted $200 to replace this but was never a big deal so I just left it alone. The sway bar link boots in the front end are worn. This causes a clicking noise when stopping and starting. Other than just the annoying sound, this in no way effects the drivability, handling, or safety of the car. My mechanic said these can be replaced with $20 worth of parts and about two hours of labor, but said they were not necessary to replace so I opted to deal with the sound. The dash is cracked in several places. From what I've read online this is a common defect in this model of car. You can see this in the picture and its not warped or anything, just has cracks running through in some spots. The dash is still sturdy and intact and this doesn't effect the functioning of any other interior items. Again, just a cosmetic issue. Other than what I've mentioned here, this is a very nice car. The interior is in great shape and has been well taken care of. The exterior is also in great shape. It may have a typical tiny scratch or door ding usually found on a car that's ten years old, but no major dents or scratches other than to the bumper plastic that was described above. If you need further info on any particular part of the car or want to stop by and have a look at it before bidding, feel free to contact me. If you would like more pics feel free to contact me as well. It has been raining all day and I wasn't able to get as many as I would have liked. The car is my daily driver so the mileage may change slightly. And it is also for sale locally, so if I get a better offer I reserve to end the auction early. I'm starting this one out at $1 with no reserve so everybody will have a fair chance to bid. Thanks and good luck!
