Vehicle Detail
This is a 1954 3/4 ton Dodge military ammunition carrier. It was in the Korean war and then served many years as a fire truck for the Bristol Volunteer FD in Ennis Texas. Have some documentation to go along with it. Manuals and maintence records from previous owner. She is in great shape to restore, fix up and drive or just have in case you need a truck that can drive through pretty much anything. It is missing tailgate and access door. I took off the fuel can holder and side parts of the front grill guard to blast and prime them. Does run and drive but the rear diff has an issue and won't engage. The axle turns but freely when 4x4 is engaged but it just isn't connected inside. I was told it was some kind of cheap retainer clip. Truck is titled and street legal with blinkers and everything, however I'd come with a trailer as driving with fwd only can wreck the trans. Top speed on it is only about 45 mph right now. More than enough to drive onto a trailer. She's an awesome truck but I got laid off the week after I got it and can't afford to restoration at this time. Is origional 24 volt system, still has some of the fire department stuff hooked up. Feel free to ask questions via email jasonallannelson76@gmail.com and if you need more pictures or any other info, please feel free to request and I shall provide. This is a vehicle for restoration and is sold As Is and Where Is. Shipping could be arranged for 1.50 a mile via car hauler within a 10 day period. Thanks and happy bidding! *edit : Truck bed is rusted the worst from a water tank and there are numerous other small spots with rust through. Floor pans and the other important bits are all great. One other thing, the exhaust manifold has a crack at the end of it around on of the bolts. Can probably be taken off and welded and if not I have seen a few of them sell on Ebay. Just makes a put put noise when running but doesn't seem to affect anything.
