1962 Rambler 400 Convertible. This is a running driving 1962 Rambler 400 Convertible. It runs good and has new spark plugs, oil and filter changed, and the radiator and gas tank flushed. When I purchased the car, it had been sitting since 1999 in a carport in Southern Utah. In this dry western climate, the body is in very good condition. I removed all of the original carpets and seats before I took close up photos of the rust free floors and the trunk. The following gauges work properly: Speedometer, odometer, gas gauge, oil gauge, temperature gauge, and generator warning light. The original owner's manual is in the glovebox and the original repair/service manual is in the trunk. The Rambler is currently registered and driven. It runs smoothly and quietly, stops as it should, and I have a clear title in my name. I want the new owner to know exactly what they are buying. It is a good running, rust free, Rambler 400 convertible, but there are some negative issues - primarily created by sitting so long. 1. The top needs to be replaced. 2. The original air-cleaner is missing (I placed an after-market air-cleaner on the carb.) 3. After sitting for over 12 years, the original carpets were soiled and beyond repair. 4. The original radio doesn't work. 5. The automatic transmission shifts slowly. 6. The emergency brake is stuck. 7. The paint is oxidized and the car should be repainted. 8. Some of the chrome body trim is missing. Over all it is a good car that will require very little work to be shown and driven to Saturday night drive ins and car shows.
