Vehicle Detail
Enjoy the Summer and Fall with open top Italian flair in this great running 1975 Fiat Sport spider convertible. It has a powerful twin cam 1800cc engine that revs happily and gets up to speed quickly. The engine has good compression and is a blast to drive. The car has a factory 5 speed transmission that shifts positively and smoothly. It has the optional factory wood shift knob and I will include a custom onyx shift knob as well. The convertible top is brand new and fits well, opening and closing easily with one hand. The car comes with a good used convertible top boot. The windows all work well although the driver's side window needs to be gently held against the track when raising it for ideal alignment. The black and white interior is in decent shape as is the dash wood. The car has a custom Nardi steering wheel that is very sharp looking. A sporty illuminated guage cluster on top of the dash holds a voltmeter, VDO clock, a vacuum guage. The tires are in great shape and the car could cruise all day at 80mph without going above 4000RPM or running hot. It has a killer stereo system that can be heard even at freeway speeds. the paint still has a lot of shine to it and looks pretty good overall. The car gets around 24MPG and really turns some heads. It has current CA tags and is smog exempt. The car has a custom Ferrari style ANSA exhaust with resonator and catalytic converter and gives it an amazing deep tone! The carbeurator was recently rebuilt and the car has a high performance aluminum starter. It has factory dual circuit power disc/drum brakes and stops well. It has a wonderful electronic ignition system that is reliable. Lights, turn signals, horn work well. It has custom Abarth style scorpion badges on the hood and trunk decklid and sporty front fender mounted chrome bullet mirrors. The previous owner did not know the reason for the salvage title and speculates that it might have been a theft recovery years ago when values on Fiats were quite low. This might explain the custom and nice black and white interior. It tracks straight down the road and is very fast and fun to drive. My family has increased by two kids so it is time for this to find a new home. Feel free to ask any questions before bidding. While I regularly use this car for a 68 mile round trip commute from LA to Orange county and don't anticipate the car having any immediate issues, it is 36 years old and as such is sold with no implied or express warranties. NOTE: A friend who is skinnier than me shot some photos of the undercarriage and fenderwells. There is zero rust on this car including in the trunk. I have more photos than I can upload onto the ebay listing and can forward them to your email address. The only rough spots on the car is a place where silicon rubber was used to fill two small holes in the door from the original drivers side mirror and a line about two inches long where the paint is scraped in front of the driver's door. There is no rust in these locations either. This is a nice looking and very straight car. The buyer will need to pay $500 deposit through PayPal within 24 of winning the car, with the balance due by Cashier's Check within a week. Buyer responsible for pickup or shipping although I will work with a transport company to coordinate pickup after funds clear. With Fiat's return to the USA these classic Spiders are rapidly increasing in value and this is a very nice one. Local buyers who wish to inspect the car personally before buying are welcome to contact me to arrange a time to do so.
