Vehicle Detail

This 1968 Mercury Cougar would make a good project car. The car was manufactured in California but has spent the last 30+ Years in West Virginia. I bought this car from and estate. I do have an envelope of receipts inclued that shows several things the former owner had done to the car back in the late 90s and early 2000's He had spent around $ 6,000.00 back then according to the receipts. (New Gas Tank, Paint, Carpet, ect.) Since the owner died I can only tell you what I see on the receipts and observe about the car. I started to have the car restored, but decided it was more of a project than I wanted to take on right now. The only thing I had done to the car was the engine restored. The car has a 351 Windsor which now looks amazing. The Tranny and engine are both out of the car awaiting body work and whatever else you want to have done to the car. As far as the body goes, the paint has some surface rust. There are not any dents in the body that I see, but the car is due for a new paint job. When the owner was restoring the car in the late 90s he had new floor pans welded from the inside and new carpet which is still in great shape. The underside of the car does show some rust. The divers side front frame needs replaced in my oppinion, but you may be able to spot weld a reinforcement as I have seen done before. Other than the headliner, the interior is in really good shape. No tears in the seats or cracks in the dash. Just needs a good cleaning. The headliner will need replaced. The car does have a clear title which I have. The main money I have sunk into the car at this point is the engine which I put about a grand into having restored. The car must be picked up. Good luck bidding!
