Vehicle Detail

This 1938 LaSalle runs very well, stops, and cruises out nice. I have owned this wonderful car for 11 years and it is time for "Lucky" to go to his next home. My wife and driving partner passed away in 2009, and I haven't taken it out for tours much since. The LaSalle is exercised regularly though and has been protected all the time I have owned itin an insulated, radiant floor heated garage. Never seen bad weather during this time. Non-smoking owners. Car shows 57K on the odometer but I'm sure in 73 years it may have gone around once. Harold LeMay,world renowned car collector, was the previous owner and had it in his collection for 19 years before me (2000). My grand-uncle owned it before Mr. LeMay for 15 years too, which is why I was able to get the car. (the family connection). No dents or damage, no rust. Car is complete. Glass is clear with no cracks or discolorations. Chrome is in fantastic shape. The interior has been re-done from the original in better-wearing green English mohair. Though the headliner and rear upholstery looks brown in these photos they are in fact a beautiful emerald green throughout. The 2-tone green lacquer paint (fenders are a slightly darker color) it replaces the original gray. Carpet is clean, free of wear spots or stains, and like new. The 322 cid flathead V-8 engine has very low miles on it and does not smoke or make noises. You can hardly can tell it's running. Stainless steel exhaust. Heater / fan operate well. Tires are almost like new-very few miles on them along with matching spare and extra hubcap. Just changed oil and other fluids. This car needs very little to be ready to tour and drive with confidence. The speedometer cable should be greased or replaced as it is noisy. The column shift needs some minor adjustment. Radio turns on but no sound.(might have something to do with the runningboard mounted antenna and that I live in the woods). Wipers work but should be serviced(vacuum type) Overhead light and clock not working; though all dash and outside lights work as they should. Car comes with manual and other LaSalle literature and ads I have. I've tried to be as thorough as I could in my description. I can answer any questions about this car so please e-mail me before you bid. Thank you for your interest in this wonderful automobile. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
